Good. Lindholm and Monahan should drop now.

He'd surely rather play for an NHL team than a team named after agricultural equipment.

Originally it was a team of local Tractor Factory workers, that's why it is called Tractor. Somewhat similiar to Vauxhall Motors

More from the same guy. Sounds like a bit of a circus!

Igor Kleyner ‏@IgorKleyner
Traktor's wunderkind Val Nichushkin is "sold" to GC champ Dinamo for $10M. Contract for 2 years, reportedly $2M per, buyout clause after 1st

I wonder what Nichushkin transfer does to his draft status. Cant imagine Dinamo throwing $10M away for 1 season of Val #GoodButNotThatGood

Latest source in Nichushkin-gate: Val's mom. Says son told her he is a Dinamo player now, and happened without his knowledge. (Radio Sport)

SovSport: Nichushkin deal was struck by Dinamo's owner Rotenberg and Chelyabinsk governor Yurevich at a meeting in Sochi hosted by Putin

Multiple reports now from prime sources confirming Nuchushkin to Dinamo for $10M transfer fee, 2 year deal, out clause after 1st

SportExpress reports SKA also tried to bid for Nichushkin, offered $4M/year

Per SportExpress, when reached for comment re his transfer, Nichushkin compared it to arranged marriage

If Putin really got involved in Nichushkin transfer (per SovSport) - the likelihood of him coming to NA for 2014-15 is prob not very high

This is true, confirmed by multiple russian sources. Nichushkin himself claimed that he didn't have a clue about his transfer to Dynamo until it was completed. Makes me wonder if he had any say in the salary's negotiations. Regardless, it is about 2M USD per year. With taxes differences, it is about thrice more than ELC.

I am pretty sure he was already signed for another 2 years with his former team. It looks like somehow he got a raise.

If the new team is investing this much money into him and he turns out, they are going to be offering him a lot to stay in the KHL in 2 years.

Question: How much was he getting paid with his old contract for the next 2 years?

Holy moly Putin is involved? *tinfoil hat* Maybe if he leaves the country the KGB detonates the kill bots in his bloodstream. I wouldn't chance picking this guy.

He will fall IMO too many good players in the top 10 that a team will not want to risk a KHL battle.

If he is there with the St.Louis pick Feaster needs to take that risk though, with 3 firsts you can do that for a top 5 talent.

Seems like they were talking with his agent, but the player himself had no idea. Maybe more will come out soon.

FWIW, Rotenberg (Dynamo's owner) is Putin's friend. SKA St. Petersburg is owned by another Putin's friend Timchenko. Government occasionally gets involved in sport transfers, particularly it is well-known that a call from Putin's administration forced soccer club Spartak Moscow to sell Bystrov to Zenith St. Petersburgh.

I still don't know if I would. This guy might be getting gov't kickbacks to stay home if Putin is involved. Could be a lot of money under the table for him. I think it would be safer to grab a D man like Hagg or Morrissey or someone else.

Now there's more:

Igor Kleyner ‏@IgorKleyner 6m
SovSport is now reporting Nichushkin is so upset about being traded to Dinamo wo his knowledge, he is leaning toward America *this* summer

SovSport: "Source close to Nichushkin says Valery, having found out about the trade, decided to stay in the NHL after draft"

Is he allowed to do that?

My guess is if he wants to do that, his NHL team will have to offer more than $10 million to buy him out.

Probably doesn't want anything to do with Russia anymore, may even be happy playing on an AHL team now.

Keep in mind that, according to Tractor's president, Nichushkin's agent is pushing hard to get Nichushkin to NHL (it was said before Dynamo's transfer). Any "rumours" that surface may be agent's speculation/misinformation.

I guess the Flames will find out in the draft interview if any of this is legit anyway.
