Butler played 22 minutes tonight and was a +3. He has his rough stretches, but tonight he was pretty good.
Gio has to find his game. If he returned to the Gio of old it would be massive for this team. His confidence seems a bit shot.
Jordano actually looked pretty good in the 1st period and not bad in the 3rd. That giveaway was completely awful and i have no idea what he was thinking.

Yeap.
Frustrating, especially because for the last three years Bouwmeester was a huge disappointment, then he finally finds his game again and Giordano's game goes in the crapper.
Dan Boyle thinks the Sharks are the suckiest sucks to ever suck a suck:

Loved McGratton rubbing out Murray after the whistle and "having a word" with him shortly after he hit Sven. Didn't hear much of Murray the rest of the game.
McGratton told Sven that he could do what he wanted out there and if anyone jumped him, he would kill them. Guess he meant it.

Hopefully he can get it going soon.
His game might not be at top level, but i am not convinced that he is a top pairing D-man. He would do better playing with Wideman but the flames have no one to play on the top pairing with JBO.

Good thing it didn't really cost us.
For sure. But he seems to have way too many brain cramps this season. Like I said..........confidence. He just seems more unsure of himself than he used to.
All teams in the Western Conference have now played 21 games, and here's their progress through those games:

4. Los Angeles Kings - 26
5. San Jose Sharks - 26
6. St Louis Blues - 24
7. Minnesota Wild - 24
8. Detroit Red Wings - 24
Dammit...I'm going to have to start believing again, aren't I? I know how this is going to turn out in the end all over again, but damn you Flames....every time I think I'm out they pull me back in.
I'm getting too old for this sh*t.

Wasn't the last time Kipper got injured in that month in 04'? They won against Anaheim, then went to cup finals?
March 2013, Kipper returns from Injury, Flames going to Anaheim.
2013-2004 = 9.
9 + 25 = 34
34 = Kipper.
Coincidence? I think not...
tremendous post, I also love it when mahr does the batman logic, and i'm so super seriously guys.

I posted this in GDT earlier today and I think the results spoke for themselves. Kippers rebound control is a thing of beauty and you don't really realize this until you watch other goalies in a Flames uniform. It is truly amazing the difference between him and the back ups we used during his injury. And this is no slight on McDonald or the others, just an astounding difference. I really hope Ramo has a little bit of this gift for the next couple of years or can develop it under Kipper.
