The new NHL confused him. And in that confusion he made a lot of mistakes. I think he learned from those mistakes and he's applying what he learned to his new job as coach of the King. All he ever really had to do is stick with what he knew which was hard-nosed hard-working hockey.

I will disagree with you here, my take on Sutter was he was always a coach never a GM, all of his decisions were based on what will get a win right now this season, I don't think he really cared about anything else.
I think if you give any coach the ability to make trades they will trade away draft picks and prospects for proven veterans as all they care about is right now.

That's it, they ran out of gold stars so Glencross is in a pout! or cursed.

At this point in time and from what I see from this team, I believe we have a better shot of getting a lottery pick then making the playoffs.

It's gotten so bad I was tempted to wear a paper bag over my face while watching tonight's game.... And I was watching the game at home on my TV!

Just amazing how bigger/physical teams absolutely push the Flames around. The forwards couldn't get near Bernier the entire game.
They've shown they can put the puck in the net, especially against more offensive, wide open teams. Their main problem is they're softer than a soup sandwich. Unbelievable how they just took that MacDonald running without an answer.

I didn't even watch the game tonight, don't get me wrong I'm a flames fan to the core but it's just too much of the same ol same ol. Another team starts their backup against us and wins. Seriously this has to end, trade the old guys and get us excited about something new because the flames of the past few years hasn't given me anything to look forward to. Expected the loss. Too soft and too complacent, didn't watch the game or the highlights tell me I'm wrong

Was at the Dome, first game of the year. LA is a superior team. Flames will not do much damage with only one NHL center on the roster.
The Dome's audio engineer should be canned. My ears hurt

Why do the Flames suck so bad right now?
Who do we blame?
My answer.......
Every single person in the Flames organization who was/is responsible for the drafting and developing NHL talent over the last ten years. (Namely 2003-2008)
47 players drafted from 2003-2008 (6 drafts), and what did we get out of it?
Five, count 'em....FIVE players who are still currently on NHL rosters.
Phaneuf, Prust, Aulie, Brodie and Backlund.
(Okay, six if you want to count Pelech....LOL)
- 2/47 drafted players left on our current roster, three if you want to count an injured Bouma
- 2/6 first rounders that panned out, if you consider Backlund panning out
- only drafted two, TWO! players in the second round in those 6 drafts (Ramholt and Wahl)
That right there is why the Flames have pretty pretty much zero "Prime AGED" 23-27 year old talent on their roster, driving the team, and is THE #1 reason we suck right now IMHO.
Ah yeah, just to compare.......on the other side tonight...the defending Champs, who walked all over us?
In those same years (2003-2008) they drafted Brown, Kopitar, Quick, Bernier, Lewis, Doughty, Voynov and Martinez....plus they used other drafted guys to acquire Carter and Richards who are also in the 23-27 year old range.
Oh, and out of all those successfully drafted and developed players, only Doughty was picked in the top 5.
Night
and
Day

There is evidence both Feaster and Brent wanted to blow it up. That was the disagreement in their talks before Brent was let go. So really the only clueless ones here is ownership because its obvious everyone else even in the office thinks this is lunacy.

Not all of us.
Some of us said that the Flames had earned those rave reviews.
They are still earning them.

Glenncross is the new Rene Bourque. Sure he will score once in a while but he's such a lazy bum. Sulks after every missed shot or bad pass, doesn't back check, no grit, no heart. Definatley does not deserve to wear an A.
