I wonder if those 16 scouts were able to stay awake to evaluate any players.

If Irving got beat by Rupp, and Stoner I'd admit it was bad but he got beat by two very good players, I"m sure both players have made some very good goalie's look silly let along a rookie

The team is closer to playoff pace (12 points per 10 games) than I would have thought at the 10 game mark. 3 OT losses makes the difference.

If you enjoy spending your time this way, all the more power to you.

But I can't fathom how being angry over a sport and coming to a fan site on a daily basis (not talking about you per se) ranting about it is a productive hobby.

There are people here who take no enjoyment from the team, spam the forum about how they suck and then seem to come here after losses to almost gloat about it wanting credit for their opinion about the team sucking being validated.

Not everything is sunshine and rainbows and the team deserves criticism... but some people take it way to far and are a broken record of spiteful negativity.

They need to go on a run. I'd say they need to win 6 regulation games in next 10 to create separation and climb the standings.
They need to go at least 6-2-2 in their next 10 in my opinion, because after that the Flames schedule gets a lot tougher, particularly the final 18 games of the season

The next ten has:

Home - Stars, Blues, Kings, Wild, Coyotes, Canucks

Road - Stars, Coyotes, Wild, Avalanche,

2 back to back games

The Ten after that are of about the same level in terms of the competition

The Final 18 games are definitely tougher

Home (8) - Ducks, Wings, Wild, Coyotes, Canucks, Oilers, BJ's, Avs

Road (10) - Hawks, Oilers, Sharks, Canucks, Avs, Oilers, Wild, Preds, Blues, Hawks

4 back to back games. That finishing stretch on the road looks potentially gruesome.

any move will look good when the goalie dives out of the net. I don't think he is an NHL quality goal tender and I'm not the only one...guy passed through waivers without batted eyelash

It's been a easy start. What should have been a big start has them sputtering out the gate and now catching up.
Rest a couple games into the schedule clearly did the Flames no favors. They needed to get into a groove and they didn't need that rest. Since that layoff, Flames are 3-2-2.

Looking at the opponents, I'm just not buying the softest schedule in the league bit.

VAN x 2, ANA, Chi, SJ and Detroit. 60% of the games against Top 5 teams in the conference is not the softest sked in the league. That's not opinion.

Overall Irving played well enough for us to win. Playing at home even with the inconsistent officiating the flames should have been able to dominate.

Up until the last Vancouver game this team was playing with excitement, pressure, and puck possession. The Wild aren't the trapping team they used to be but yet I'm reminded by the boring Sutter hockey that we've witnessed for the last almost decade when watching this game.

I really hope the last two games are an anomaly and the team goes back to how they were. If not I know I will be challenged watching this type of hockey for the rest of the season.

Honestly thought I gave it enough time to sink in, but still cannot wrap my head around the Blair Jones decision

Didn't help that Irving was still looking for Jacques strap in 214

Was at the game unfortunately, awful hockey. Hudler, Wideman & Brodie were noticeable, the rest just seemed content to play a soft game on the outside. Iginla was invisible, but Parise was worse. Ugly.

Yup the end of the season is going to be brutal that's why it's imperative we get wins now, not points but wins and win some regulation games. We can't be in the business of giving points away, especially on home ice.

Flames have been terrible in the shoot our for yrs and its weird because they have had some players like Tanguay, Oli, Kotalik that statistically are actually some of the best in the league at it in the past. Not sure why we can never get 3 shooters all on the same page.

Come on, he was so turned around on those dekes he was already half-way back to Abbotsford.

I want the Flames to make it as much as the next guy...I will be cheering hard for them every game. In this short season there are gonna be more three point games due to the compressed schedule and only inter conference play. I think you need to be at least average in the shoot out to make it...that will be the difference for those last few spots

The fact is they have played the least amount of games, and regardless of opponent which included a non playoff team in Anaheim one that barely got in San Jose we started off poorly. I'm sure the break in schedule hampered our hot start to the season. No excuses, this team just doesn't put in the effort and willingness to win like others do.

Unless we start to put together some big streaks, we will be picking top 5 in June.

Was at the game. I thought Ben Street was very good in the minutes he got. Skated well, was involved in the play, had a nice dangle and probably the best scoring chance thru the first two periods. I think he deserves some more games.

What are you disagreeing with? Also, 26th in the league with multiple games at hand on most teams.

The sky may fall, but it hasn't yet.

Between SJ and Ana, they have 15 wins combined. Stop looking at last year.
