Using "like" 4378522934 times.

Also "know what I mean?"

"I like, think, like, The Flames will, like, have a hard time, like, marking the playoffs...know what I mean?"

Maybe this'd more appropriate in the gear grinding thread.

I hate it when people purposely do the dumb talk. A couple examples that really pick me.

"What can I do you for today?"

"There you be!"

A lady that works at the Tims I frequent says that every bloody time I order.

I find older guys are the worst offenders for that type of thing.

I notice I say "ya know?" a lot in sentences when speaking about a topic.

It irritates me, but I can't stop it.

Huh. Can't say I've noticed that one.

Irregardless is a word though. It was recognized by the Wentworth American Dialect Dictionary in 1912. It is also recognized by the Oxford and Webster's dictionaries. The word is simply a colloquialism.

The 'so' part makes it particularly bad. Randomness can't be measured in degrees. Something is either random or it isn't. Usually it isn't. There are lots of fields where randomness is a legitimate topic of discussion, from science to mathematics to games of chance, but the trend of young people using 'random' as a synonym for unexpected or unlikely is really unfortunate. In some ways, it's the new 'karma' or 'ironic'.
I was just thinking the same thing!!!
