Really hope all that confidence from spring training carries over and we see a big game today. Be nice to start the season off with a bang.
Also be nice to see them go deep with the lead so we can see the new bullpen at work.

Today's lineup...no huge surprises. Nice to see them healthy 1 through 9 to start the year
Escobar-SS,
Johnson-2B,
Bautista-RF,
Lind-1B,
Encarnacion-DH,
Lawrie-3B,
Thames-LF,
Arencibia-C,
Rasmus-CF.
Romero-SP
Lawrie slotted at 6th is good, no huge pressure but still a big run producing spot in the order.

I'd have liked to see him higher.
I know you have to be careful not to put too much pressure on him but this kid thrives on the spotlight. The 2 or 5 spot would have been better IMO.
Still have no idea how Lind slots into cleanup with this lineup

I wonder if the Jays game gets more attention on this board today than the Flames will.

I like to see the R/L/R/L/R at the top of the order, always hard to match a bullpen to that. Here's hoping Rasmus can get some confidence in the opening series and continue that on throughout the season. There was talk Lawrie was going to hit 3rd, ahead of Bautista - glad to see him hitting 6th for now.

I doubt it was any kind of serious discussion about moving Bautista down a sport. Lawrie is a future 3-4 hitter, but not going to mess with Bautista who is great where he is. I think Lawrie might bat 5th by mid season or stay 6th. Will be good for the first full year and see what happens for next year. Definitely shouldn't be a #2, I don't think that utilize his full ability to knock in runs.
I'm hopeing Rasmus batting 9th can do kind of the same things Gardner batting 9th for the yanks does. Once he gets on, steals some bases and get into position for the top of the order.

If memory serves me correctly, the Jays have had a lot of success on past opening days, although I do remember the Frasor blown save vs the Tigers a few seasons ago.
And it would be great to see the Jays get off to a good start because right now they're the talk of Toronto and it's really exciting to see all the Jays hats and jerseys out today. I'm really excited to see this lineup hit for a full season

It was originally reported that he would bat third, in front of Jose Bautista. But that was false information. Lawrie, 22, batted .293/.373/.580 with nine home runs, 25 RBI and seven stolen bases in 43 games last season. He should be a highly valuable fantasy third baseman in 2012. Apr 5 - 11:32 AM

Exactly. False information. Weren't going to move Bautista around in the lineup after 2 straight years of success in the 3rd spot.

Any chance of a GT? I won't get to see much of it and I would love to see what a thousand CP monkeys on a thousands CP typewriters could do for describing it for me...

Just heard on Fan 590 it was a typo from the Cleveland Indians staff... Easy bra, just reporting things I hear.

I know. Just didn't make a lot of sense from Jays perspective. That's all I was getting at.
Would like a huge Jays win today. Even nicer if they do cause I'm going against Masterton in first week of fantasy.

Finally Jays season opener is here. This opening day line up is SO much better than last years. Rivera, Nix, Hill, Corey Patterson replaced by Johnson, Lawrie, Rasmus is just miles ahead of last year.

According to mlb.com, the game is free on mlb.tv today. I don't know if you have to sign up for it or anything though.
