If these debts had been signed off in the fifties, it's highly doubtful Germany would in the seventies have claimed they can't pay them because Germany isn't united.

I'm not saying it's obvious that Germany should pay, even though it's my personal opinion.

What I am saying is that Greece's case is only seen as ridiculous because Greece has one reputation and Germany has another reputation, and because of the timing.
