yep, and if he is healthy he should be able to absolutely dominate that league
he's still top division quality

For sure. There are a lot of players who would have packed their kit bag and sat back counting dollars on the ebach after his injury woes. The fact he's battling back shows just how much playing means to him. I'll definitely be rooting for him.

Gervinho signing is official as well, think that's a good bit of business
and Sky say that Chelsea are coming back with a 30m + Sturridge bid for Modric

Thats a good gamble for Stoke, if he can stay fit he'll really help them.
Realistically, he cant expect top clubs to pay top dollar for a player who never plays. United cut Hargreaves loose, Spurs have to do the same with Woodgate.

The whole Modric fiasco could conceivably turn ugly, but this is what the Champions League does. Liverpool went through the exact same phase when they went out of the CL, the big players cut and run to the clubs that are in it.
What to do though, if Levy holds his ground theres little sense having a disgruntled playmaker around the rest of the team.
I posted before that I have respect for Levy in the way he does business, and I do, but I have that respect because at the moment I think players just have too much leverage and power in their bargaining situations and managers cant manage when the players have all the power.
Unfortunately, gone are the days when manager ruled like tyrants and players got what they got and were glad for it.

If he stays fit he could bring a bit of class to their Rugby team. Good signing by Stoke.

This is what really irks me. What happens if he moves to Chelsea and then next season they don't make the CL, but Spurs do? Does he go crawling back? Like hell he does; Man City buy him, give him £200,000 a week and he sits on the bench. I hate when players use the Champions League as a ruse for a pay-raise.
Edit: Oops, sorry for the double post.

That deal would certainly make sense for Spurs. One for now in Drogba (even though he is a shadow of himself 3 years ago), and one for the future in Sturridge.
I think with Essien out for 6 months now, and their rickety old squad falling to pieces, Roman starts to just throw money at the problem. I could see something more like £45-50m being offered because they get desperate.

Fergie on Wenger vowing not to sell SN. 'if he stands by that decision it's a brave one. I don't know the directors will enjoy that one

No need for a guessing game. Fergie is 100% referring to #MCFC when he suggests "somewhere else" as Nasri destination if he leaves Arsenal

I hear Modric's offer is up to £27M now.
That Essien injury is really going to suck if they dont replace him with someone.

ya sky said they understand that Chelsea are willing to offer it
they said that 6 hours after it was reported
it should also show Luka how little they value him
Levy all ready rejected it

2 points from the last few days:
1) I knew the tabloids were bad, but I am surprised how bad Sky has been in this window (I probably shouldn't be, but I am not well versed in British media).
They reported an Arsenal bid of 18M pounds for Downing, but Villa has come out point blank and said Arsenal never made the bid.
2) Chelsea is stupid, but did they really counter with 27M? Perhaps with their arrogance they did, or sky got it wrong.
Teams like Barca and Chelsea should not be able to rely on unsettling players to force a price they want. I hope Tottenham holds firm.

Sounds like Fergie is unhappy we will not let Nasri go there. I mean he didn't have to throw in the directors comment after.

Apparently Carlos Tevez and his agent are now in talks with Corinthians. I don't know what it is about Tevez, but he seems to have a compulsion to cause drama everywhere he goes.
Are Corinthians really a better club than Man City, and are they really a better club then Man Utd? I don't understand what goes through his head.

I think it's his wife/kids
they dont want to live in Manchester and they basically refuse to go, so he gets homesick
not making excuses for him because he did sign the contract, but I do think that is his reasoning

Cesc Fabregas has told Xavi he is "suffering" and is desperate to quit Arsenal, according to the Barcelona midfielder.
The Nou Camp star says he ran into his potential new team-mate during the summer and told Barca's official website: "I spoke to Cesc in Ibiza and he said he was suffering because he wanted to come. It's more like, he did everything he could to come and wants to leave Arsenal - although he made it clear that now everything depends on the selling club."

Dawson came out 4 hours later and called the story complete crap

I'm sick to death of this Cesc saga. If you wanted to play in Barcelona so badly, you shouldn't have left and signed a contract with someone else. Tough it out, son.
