Has there been any confirmation yet that the song is genuine in the sense of being a song that was actually designed to be good?
Listening to it again, I can't help but feel like we're all being put on - and that the song is doing exactly what it was designed to: be terrible enough to become very popular.

It was designed to be a song, dunno if it was designed to be good.
The song and video is done by a company called Ark Music Factory. It's a production for hire business. Basically these kids parents pay (probably) an ungodly amount of cash to have these guys quickly write a song, and feature their kid in a video. Make them feel like a star.
Jay Onrait was actually singing this song on SportsCentre.
Also the remix is out! Basically that rapper riding the coattails of the Rebecca Black fad. This is what is wrong with the internetz.
