Sherm - any word on Büscher?
Central midfield looks to be the big hole right now. No depth there yet, I’m sure Tommy will get it filled

Haven't pried much on Buscher, heard he's staying back in Germany but it's all hearsay. Mavila is the next key player that I'm interested in. Cavalry haven't announced any fullbacks and he was the best one last year IMO.
Regarding the list above, three of those players are coming back from ACL tears (Serban, Northover and Eustaquio) and it's likely only Serban will be ready for the start of the season.

What position does Serban play? He missed all of last season, I have no idea if he's a fullback or centre back.

You would have to expect that everyone on that list will be getting a call from Ottawa.

My guess is that they don't want too much turn over, also Waterman leaving creates a bit of a need. I would imagine that Wheeldon will be playing 'weekday' games more then prime time match ups. But I agree, we was not our strongest defender. However, his body check on Borges was fantastic.

Ottawa, and their Spanish overlords, could actually be a nice little pipeline to Europe for Canadian players in general (not just those playing for Ottawa). Or at least let them be seen a little more.
And other global clubs might see CanPL as a ground-level investment to branch out their own networks, whether through direct ownership or via partnerships.
All of this is good, as long as the league maintains sensible salary rules, parity, etc.

According to Atletico Madrid's announcement, the season will start April 11. So 2 weeks earlier than last year.
Break out the fireball, the shovels and the grass growing lights.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cavalry, Edmonton, and Valour play the first couple of games on the road. I'd say that those three cities get the latest spring. Pacific, by contrast, should have 2-3 at home to start the season. It'll all even out over what is (hopefully) a long, balanced, single season.
That being said, the only consistent thing about our weather is inconsistency. We had worse weather in October than we did for the final in early November. And I can remember training for men's league in early April on dry, brown grass, only to get snow dumped on us in late April or even early May.
Either way, bring it on. Get the schedule out and let's get this thing going.

Yeah I remember my Blizzards try-outs starting in late March at times... and honestly, it wasn't terrible.
Personally, I'd rather have cold games in April than in October, but there may an issue with frozen ground at that time, so who knows. I'm not a lawn surgeon.

I also found that last season, I was able to go to more matches in the spring and fall than the proper summer months anyway. Nothing beats a summer day at a soccer game, but there is a lot of competition with vacations, BBQs, etc.
As far as lawn surgery goes, that's one thing that Spruce Meadows should have down pat. They can't change the weather, but I can only assume that they are pretty serious about winterizing and protecting the grass. It won't be perfect early on, but it will be playable.

I was looking at Season's tickets sales again yesterday. I noticed that in my section 201, there are only 25 seats available. Which is 10 fewer then it was in December. This makes me happy. The Culture in the 200s sections is going to be a little more intense this year I think.

Well the Waste Management is an event. Even if you don't really care about golf tomorrow (Saturday) is amazing. I went once and would love to go again.

It's weird seeing him in something else other than a finely tailored three-piece suit. Dude has elite style.
