Hmm 400 for an unlocked phone tempting. I wish it wasn't so big. I had a bad experience at apple store on the weekend and told them I would sell my phone and not buy another apple so this is tempting

How long was it until the Nexus 7's were available again after the initial offering? A few weeks or so? I'm sure they have production ramped up to the max. Maybe just hang on a couple more weeks and you may be able to snag one.

I don't really understand Google's reticence to doing a pre-order; at least people would know roughly how long of a wait they're in for. Unless supply is really that bad that it's going to basically be a lottery to get one for the next while.

Definitely not the best handling of it. E-mail notifications that never went out, no clear release time, shopping cart errors, no pre-order or estimate for stock, and removing some European countries from the release on launch day because of dwindling supply. I'd be curious to see how many they actually had ready to sell. Was it insane demand or did they just have basically no stock ready for release day? Probably both.

I agree, pre order would be the best. Then people can order and put it out of their mind knowing that the order is underway and will take X days approx to fulfill the order.
