Red Line Report's latest rankings divide the top players into three-ish tiers:
Tier I
1. Jones
2. Drouin
3. McKinnon
Tier IA
4. Barkov
Tier II
5. Monahan
6. Nichushkin
7. Lindholm
8. Nurse
Tier III
9. Ristolainen
10. Erne
11. Shinkaruk
Incidentally, at the time of posting this, there is a link at the bottom of the page to video of Gillies's amazing save this weekend against BC... I take it as a good omen.

Button's new rankings (March 4): http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=49649
Drouin jumps to 2, MacKinnon and Barkov slip to 3 and 4. Button is also very high on Darnell Nurse (#6).

It seems like a lot of players coming out of the Quebec League where for years it was the ugly stepchild.

I think Nurse, Domi, and Monahan are all going to be Flames targets for the draft.

Drouin has sure turned up the offense.
I would love MacKinnon as he is a natural center and the Flames desperately need one, as well as Barkov (big center), but Drouin is probably the best player in the draft.
I hate that management thinks we can squeeze into the playoffs when most people know we won't come close. Then we could sell, drop some more, get more picks and get a top 4.

Drouin was drafted as a centre, though hasn't played as one for two years.
I'd be interesting to see if you could convert him.

The connections between Button and the Flames, and the fact that Flames recent draft picks have been higher on "Craig's List" than they have been on other scouting lists. Jankowski, Sieloff, and Matt Finn were all ranked highly by Button and were reportedly the players the Flames wanted to draft. This could just be a coincidence, but I believe he liked Sven and Erixon as prospects as well

Didn't he also call the Flames taking Jankowski in the 1st round last draft?

He had Jankowski ranked at 14 which was our pick at the time so yeah.

I meant during the draft. I recall him saying something like "I wouldn't be surprised if the Flames take Mark Jankowski" right before Feaster walked on stage.

Someone definitely said that, was it Button? I thought it might have been Gord Miller.

I think it's a bit too much of a coincidence, especially with Tod still on the payroll with the Flames. I don't think it's a coincidence in a bad way, though. Didn't a few of the Flames second rounders from this year end up being ranked higher or at the same spot as button's list? I thought guys like Seiloff and Dublow were ranked pretty high in Craig's eyes. (I could be crazy though).
From a fan perspective I kinda like the Button seams to have an inside track on the Flames picks, makes draft day a bit more interesting.

he had Sieloff at 42, exactly where the Flames took him ... he also had Gillies in his top 75, ranked at 56.

For those looking for some quick reference points on draft eligibles, we've opened up some prospect profiles:
http://futureconsiderations.ca/playerprofiler/
We currently have 70+ profiles up. Should come espcially handy when we round things out closer to the draft when we hit triple digits!

Not that I want to complain for free products, but could you add a "Show all" option? I wouldn't mind the ability to browse your entire selection instead of opening each tab.
I love reading these though. It's way too much fun looking through players I'm less familiar with.

Some mock drafts for your viewing pleasure.
Adam Kimelman's Mock Draft:
He has the Flames drafting Drouin at fourth overall.
Mike Morreale's Mock Draft:
He has the Flames drafting Barkov at fourth overall.
Steven Hoffner's Mock Draft:
He has the Flames passing on Barkov and instead taking Shinkaruk at fourth overall.

I like Shinkaruk at around ~10, but I would got bat #### insane if the Flames picked him at 4.
He's a left winger. We have tons of those.
Shinkaruk is essentially Kessel-lite with slightly better two-way play.
My list is MacKinnon > Jones > Drouin > Barkov > Monahan > Lindholm > Ristolainen > Pulock ~ Shinkaruk

Hoffner's list is weird as hell - Shinkaruk at 4, Ristolainen at 30 (!), Juuse Saros (who?) at 18 ... if he wanted to be different, all I can say is: good job.
Would be awesome to get Drouin or Barkov though.
