Hump the Trump

The Conservatives have a big trust issue right now, and I don't see PP getting ahead of it, at all. That's really disappointing, and frankly blindly stupid.

I agree with that.
Given the tariff stupidity and the moron down south PP has to move beyond his usual rhetoric. Otherwise the Liberals are going to take advantage of a political opportunity.
But it is amusing how people want PP to present a plan while Carney presents a pile of #### and people lap it up.

In fairness, PP hasn't been in his position long.........

Carney has actually presented a plan with actual detail:
https://markcarney.ca/time-to-build
Good effort though.

They're all the same.

Nope wrong again. One Candidate may have a plan like Project 2025 and the other Candidate may not.

It's a good thing then that we have an election coming up, and people can vote on the merits of each party's plan, or lack thereof.

It's even worse than that.
The platform was completely laid out for all to see, but the folks running said "No, No, I'm not gonna do that stuff"...and then they did it like everyone did/should have known they would do.

Listening to Carney right now and he's just done spoonfeeding Trump oxygen from the media. Look guys, were not gonna talk more about....were going to talk about Canada and what these ppl behind are going to be doing as soon as we are done here.
Sounds like they're deadset on breaking ties with U.S trade regardless of what trump plans on doing.
Just slapped Pollievre pretty good right there. It's a nothing burger in reality but what's the reason PP doesn't have his security clearance yet? Seems like a pretty key piece of paper to run a country. Kind of like having a driving license to operate a vehicle.

I just watched Carney's post-swearing in speech. Very impressed with his demeanor and competence. He definitely seems like the person Canada needs to meet this moment of national crisis.

Yeah as far as I’m aware the UCP have been doing essentially what they ran on doing. If you don’t like what they’re doing maybe don’t vote for them when they tell you they’re going to do this.

Usually politicians provide some high level summary of the key policies that will help achieve their objectives.
Ex. Danielle Smith didn't just say she was going to fix healthcare (in 90 days), she said that she'd reorganize, split up AHS, make them more efficient, etc. Whereas the NDP said that they'd bring in nurse practitioners, increase funding, etc.
Everybody agrees we need to "stop the crime", the key is the specific policies or actions you're going to take to do something about it.

Nice to have a PM that is actually intelligent and hopefully fiscally responsible again. I'm okay with how the election plays out either way. Trudeau gone with a bunch of his flunkies, Greenpeace out of the environment portfolio, NDP likely to get decimated, Liberal shift back to the centre, works for me.

It's basically the exact same faces just shuffled around like musical chairs. It's the same people, the same party. The carbon taxes are still going to be there, just shuffled around pretending like the costs won't be felt by Canadians (Carney's "you don't use steel in your life, right?"). Adding carbon tariffs on imported goods again pretending that people haven't learned that Canadians will pay for those self imposed carbon tariffs.
Maybe we can hope the liberal corruption slows down, they maybe shift back to center maybe, maybe they stop committing economic suicide for social credit, maybe Carney will move away from his life long history organizing the world to chose carbon over the Canadian economy, etc. Maybe.
Trump is like to best case distraction for the last decade of liberal government history. People have short memories lol. Might as well put on a new coat of paint and fool the voters to lock in another 4 years.

Trump isn't a distraction, he's a cautionary example of what modern conservatism has become.

Until there is a general election, there can't really be any new faces. It's a very small victory, but some of the MPs were at least moved out of the portfolios where they were doing real harm.
I'd hope that if the Liberals do lead the government after the election, some of these people will be gone.

I view voting for PP, the same as voting for Smith in 2023.
Oh sure yeah, they won't that bad. Right? Right??
