As much fun as it is to make fun of Saskatchewan fans that's not a good sign for the league if they can't get close to a sellout for a playoff game in Regina when it's 10 degrees outside.

The league is more in its death throws than many understand. Two pathetically empty stadiums today. Terrible showing for the league.

That's two ill-advised throws for VA today.

Vernon Adams is a loser. He can never win the big games. Do not want him here!

I think Rick Campbell has coached his last game with the BC Lions.

Yet record tv ratings across the board. Being nowhere near a sellout is normal in the playoffs in every city, even Regina. Death throes is a ridiculous comment.

TV ratings were down 4% this year. which is ok. But with that TSN contract the CFL would be able to survive just on that with that super low salary cap.

The attendance in Toronto was actually decent for an Argos game and overall attendance was up a percent over last year so essentially flat. It's not great but TV ratings have been pretty good. I guess the issue as always is trying to attract new generations of fans. I don't think the league is on death row but the outlook isn't great either. It's just the same old CFL existence which has been just enough.

Good ratings on Saturday for the CFL:

The Canadian Football League saw a major increase in television viewers for Semi-Final Saturday in 2024.

Year-over-year the average for both games jumped 41.7 percent. The East Semi-Final was up 51.4 percent while the West Semi-Final increased 33.1 percent. At BMO Field, the Argonauts took apart the Redblacks 58-38 while the Roughriders knocked out the B.C. Lions 28-19 at Mosaic Stadium.

Attendance was flat for the Stamps and they said that was a good thing because they did not see a decline which is what they saw the years prior.

Also sounds like Adams will be traded after the Grey Cup.

Last time we took a QB from BC we ended up with Doug Flutie.

I imagine he gets traded to Hamilton.

What will they do with the league MVP?

I do believe the Stamps will be aggressive. It would be ironic if we do trade for him and draft Rourke and he takes his spot at some point.

Also, it seems like Ambroise isn't just sailing off into the sunset he had a 5-4 vote in favour of keeping him. The article from TSN and the Herald make it seem like the Stamps are in the camp to push him out.

Call me sentimental, an old softie, whatever, but let's say VA does indeed get traded to Hamilton, I would love to see a Bo Levi Mitchell return to Calgary. He would be a great mentor to Kurtis Rourke (a passing of the torch if you will).

Something tells me Bo wont be playing any more when K Rourke arrives in the CFL.

He will get NFL offers and at least be on a practice squad for 2-3 years.

I can't see Bo coming back to play here. Stranger things have happened.

Adams is also 3 years younger, and he has legs which is needed in this league especially the way our line played this year.

Mcinnis is a free agent as well.

Could be like 2005 when we signed Copeland and Burris that led to the resurgence of the team. We already had Lewis on the squad.

I'm not convinced the Stamps draft Rourke because he won't immediately help the franchise and there's a lot of holes on the roster and they could use offensive line help. I think passing on Rourke would be incredibly short sighted but Dickenson probably can't afford too many more losing seasons so decisions may be made based on trying to field the best team next season.
