what if that 4th and 12 play costs Harbaugh a job but saves Lewis'?
The fact Harbaugh even had them in the playoff picture to begin with all the injuries (most of them would have been starters) is remarkable. Would be a foolish and stupid move to can him.

True but he just lost a must win game at home to the Bengals. Also that's 4 out of 5 years out of the playoffs now for the Ravens.

Watching the Oilers defend is like watching fire engines frantically rushing to the wrong fire
There's regressing and then there's winning 6 games less than the season before. They won 7 games in his first season, 12 in the second so 6 wins in season three is a bigger drop than just regression. A total disaster due to keeping the defensive coordinator that deserved to be fired and firing the offensive coordinator that coached them to a top 6 offense. The offensive game plans were the worst seen in Oakland since the bed and breakfast offense it was that bad.

true, they pay a QB 22 million to be average at best and still have a chance to make the playoffs. impressive actually
How the hell did the Bills make the playoffs? I've had the Rob Johnson curse on them for the past 18 years!
That was pretty awesome by the Bengals. haha. 4th and 12 and they hit a 50 yard touchdown.
Also good riddance to the Seahawks. Hope they never make the playoffs again. What terrible coaching and discipline. They had it in the bag 4 times in the 4th and they couldn't unthug it out.
the fact that anyone could actually think Wilson is the MVP of the league is beyond laughable.

Not sure if this mean Gruden is a done deal. Regardless of Gruden it would have been a hard sell to bring back JDR after this mess of a season with all the locker room dissention and terrible coaching on both sides of the ball.
They have to interview a minority candidate per the Rooney rule
The schefty story last night said Gruden has been calling around to assistants about a potential staff
To me there's too much smoke for it not To be a fire here, Firing JDR right away was the right thing to do because if he waited a few days and then it came out Gruden pulled back you couldn't then keep JDR. So it was already done
The reports are the offense was jovial in the locker room after hearing of the firing says what is needed to be said about how he lost the room, Carr even said the last month the fight has been with the team but they have been lacking the 'details'. Which for him, he always takes blame, is the equivalent of blasting the coaching staff
In hope it's Gruden, but a new HC who will overhaul the staff either way is preferable. I like JDR as a motivator and even as an in game decision guy. But he needs to be surrounded by elite assistants and he hired his guys and couldn't do it

When is someone going to hold Ozzie Newsome accountable for drafting like #### the last few years? That Flacco contract has hampered the roster every since. Many good players they couldn’t pick up or resign because no cap after that idiotic contract.

Ya whatever they were going to be downing being way over his head ruined any chance of it
Brady couldn't succeed with the game plans downing came up with
They took a downfield passing team and turned Carr in to captain checkdown
They have one of the best OLs in the league, a big group that can power block, and went with a zbs
You have to coach to your strengths, maybe in a few years downing is ready I'm sure he learned from this year. But he submarined this season
The defense too needs an overhaul, Pagano improved things just by letting Mack and Irvin just rush the passer. But a new system, a healthy Conley, and an improved LB Corps are badly needed
He stated he was stepping down. Whether he retires, who knows. The writing was on the wall and Lewis knew it. Great coach, just time for a change as he has been at the helm for nearly 15 years. There is talk he may stay with the organization in some capacity however. I look forward to a new beginning as a long time Bengals fan.

do you think the team would cut Flacco? he isnt even close to performing to what he gets paid. not sure who their backup is? is it still Mallett?
I love that the Browns had like their own Eli Super Bowl moment when Kizer escaped a sack, and instead of an amazing catch, we get as bad a drop as you'll ever see. Perfect Browns moment to sum up the imperfection.
Just goes to show that the easiest catch can be the hardest. I honestly admit I felt bad for the receivers because as a coach I've seen that play happen more times then I like, and you can't yell at the receiver, because frankly the receiver has already died inside.
They basically go to the bench and there is little support from the team mate there's a circle around him that looks like a bomb crater that nobody enters.
Its tough, and its a job coster
On the other hand, its the Brown's and Kevin Costner isn't at the helm so they'll find a way to mess that up with all of their draft picks.
I think we need to roll out the Brown's parody commercial from a few years back.

A quarter of the NFL is looking for a new HC. Good luck with that.
