God, I can't tell you how happy I am these days. I've been religiously following the Jays for 30 years now, and this might be the happiest I've been since Alomar clubbed that homer against the A's back in 1992.

More than 150 pitches from the Yankees bullpen, and all 7 of them were used. And they lost anyway!
By comparison, the Jays bullpen has thrown less than 150 pitches in the last 5 games, going back to last Thursday. And the Jays won all 5 of them!

Nice. I hope they go to extras again the next two games. Burn their pen to the ground.

The only way that could have gone better is if it was tomorrow's game that went 16 innings, and their entire bullpen was burned going into our series. As it is, New York desperately needs Sabathia to go deep today, and he averages less than 6IP per start.
Also, in terms of scoreboard watching, the O's-M's game is a 1:30 start, our time.

I may have missed it, but did anyone pick up Ezequiel Carrera on waivers? I see both Valencia and Doubront landed in Oakland, but I hadn't heard about Carrera. It would be good to have a solid option ready to be called up in case of injury.

Passed through waivers. He's playing in Buffalo right now.
another FUN FACT: The Yankees have 9 runs in their last 7 games. The Jays scored 10 runs in two innings tonight.

I think Carrera did stay in the Org.
Either way, Pompey will possibly get recalled before September so he could be available if the Jays make the playoffs.

With the win streak, Las Vegas oddmakers currently list Blue Jays as World Series favorites with 4-1 odds.

Awesome pitch by Buehrle to elicit the double play and then another good pitch and even better defense by Pennington to end the inning without any runs scoring.

The luck seems to be firmly in the Jays favour because that should have been a 2-3 run inning for the A's

how so?
they were unlucky, due to the sun, on the first hit. Tough call by the home plate ump on a ball that probably should have been a strike, leading to the walk. Then a tough play against Bautista - a ball he probably catches more often then not.
That gets the bases loaded. A great pitch and then great defense ends the inning.
Where is there luck there?

I agree... Unless they're playing the Yankees.
I had the same view with the Flames last year. Until I found out we were playing the Canucks. When we lost to Anaheim, I was still so over the moon about beating the Canucks that I literally did not care.

Awesome, hope they continue to do well. But this Toronto after all, so "all aboard the bandwagon!"
http://www.ctvnews.ca/sports/blue-ja...oast-1.2516513
Talk around the pub now features more detailed discussions of players' names and stats, according to bartender Kenny MacIntyre. But the consensus among pub staff is that they're fairweather fans who will likely jump off the Jays bandwagon as quickly as they hopped aboard should their fortunes start to fall.
Such behaviour is infuriating to some who say they've stuck with the team through thick and thin.
Vanessa Niccals of Toronto views the influx of fickle Jays fans with a jaundiced eye.
The 17-year-old says she's been a supporter for years, but believes the people fanning the flames of excitement in the city right now are just as likely to create a negative atmosphere down the road.
