McDavid is only as good as he is because of draisaitl. They should earn the same amount.

So for the foreseeable future if the Draisaitl cap hit is 8:
McDavid / Draisaitl (@8) / = 20.5 Million Cap hit
Gio / Hamilton / Brodie / Hamonic = 21 Million Cap hit
Yea, even with McLottoball in there I'll take that every day of the week and twice on Sunday

Then think of Mcdavid, Draisaitl and their 5 Giordanos

Jagr to Calgary (e4)

I actually think if you reverse the teams that might actually happen. Iginla to Calgary, Jagr to Edmonton.

Why do I always think Jagr already played for Edmonton.... I know he didn't but wasn't there a time when he was rumoured to go to the oil but he said no?

I think it was someone else. Player apparently agreed to deal with Edmonton but signed somewhere else. Thought it was around the pronger era?

It was Michael Nylander:
https://www.google.ca/amp/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.662061
Quote:
The Edmonton Oilers issued a statement on Tuesday, claiming they had come to a contract ageement with free agent centre Michael Nylander, who subsequently signed with Washington.
Calling the situation, "unfortunate and unprecedented," the Oilers said general manager Kevin Lowe agreed on Sunday to a multi-year deal with Mike Gillis,Nylander's agent, who in turn confirmedin writing that an agreement had been reached.

There was a rumor back when he was still playing in the KHL he was considering coming back to play for the Oilers. IIRC the basis of those rumors was an article where Jagr said he would like to play with Hemsky. Jagr pretty much says that about any other Czech players in the NHL

Thinking about Micheal Nylander? He had a verbal agreement with the Oilers but then apparently after talking to his wife that evening reneged and signed with the Caps.

Those were a fun few years in Edmonton... - Pronger demands a trade away from the Oilers after going to Game 7 of the Final
- Nylander agrees to sign with the Oilers only to have his wife kybosh it
- Jagr rumoured to be interested in signing in Edmonton only to have him sign in (literally) Siberia instead
- Oilers have deal to acquire Heatley only to have Heatley say no to waiving his NTC for Edmonton
- Curtis Glencross signs with the Flames after the Oilers fail to even make him a contract offer because they were so focused on signing Marian Hossa -- who then signs a one-year deal in Detroit instead
- Vanek failed offer sheet
- Penner successful offer sheet
Good times. Good times.

If only Dustin Penner had injured his back while reaching for pancakes as a member of the Oilers instead of the Kings.

It is almost unimaginable to fathom that, in a decade of suck that the Oilers wallowed through, those events were from the good years!

Funny, I almost put that, but then I remembered he was in LA when that happened.
I also forgot the whole Sheldon Souray saga in Edmonton... - Makes a big splash signing a five year deal, a good Alberta boy returns home
- Spends most of the first season injured
- Plays almost the full second season
- Spends most of the third season injured -- ends his season after breaking his hand punching Iginla
- Criticizes Oilers management for their behaviour during his injuries and is blackballed by the team
- Collects his full salary in year four of the contract while playing for another franchise's AHL team
- Final year of the contract is bought out by the Oilers
