Pac-Man/Adam Jones released from the Cowboys as information from a June 2007 stripclub shooting surfaces.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3817195
Apparently the NFL knew about it but didn't take action because the victims couldn't see the shooter.
What is with this guy and shooting up strip clubs (or their parking lots)?

Confirmed interviewees for the Broncos HC position:
Steve Spagnuolo defensive coordinator New York Giants
Josh McDaniel offensive cooridnator New England Patriots
Raheem Morris defensive coordinator Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Rick Dennison offensive coordinator Denver Broncos
Jason Garrett offensive coordinator Dallas Cowboys
Leslie Frazier defensive coordinator Minnesota Vikings
Todd Bowles secondary/assistant head coach Miami Dolphins
All have been interviewed except for Bowles who will interview tomorrow.
Geez, that's quite a list. I still think they should give Gary Kubiak a call.

I'm the other way. I wish they'd wait and interview Rex Ryan. I'm of the camp that thinks they need a defensive minded head coach. Keep Bates on for the offence and get a good D guy in there.
Raheem Morris seems to be the motivator without a lot of experience.
Frazier so far would be my choice, Spag just worries me as he's the #1 guy in most minds, and that just seems to spell doom. Yeah, it's a bad reason, but it's mine.
Why Bowlen is going head coach first, then GM escapes me completely. Seems like buying tires before you decide on the car.

I'm guessing he's not hiring a GM. There is one within.

Surprised that Schottenheimer isnt up for consideration.
Everyone is looking for the new "hot" stud coach these days I guess.
truth is that 9 of the last 10 Superbowl winning coaches were fired from their previous job.
its all about the right fit for the right set of players and philosophies.

I can't believe that this guy isn't banned from the league for life. There are what? 1800 players in the NFL. Is this guy that valuable or that big of a draw that the NFL needs to put up with his criminal activity to improve or maintain the bottom line? It really baffles me.

He did apprentice under Belichick, I thought that would excite a Patriots / Browns fan.

I don't know how a franchise can hire a coach before a GM. That just seems backwards to me.
If a franchise has an established coach, then I can see how they could change GM, but when a team is replacing both positions I would think the GM would want to have a say in the coach.

Interesting in deed. I just saw a blurb at the gym this morning that Mangini had been hired by the Browns and assumed that they had hired a GM in the last day and I just missed it. It doesn't make any sense at all. Even in KC where the GM has resigned (been fired) and the coach remains, the assumption is that the new GM's first order of business wil be to fire Herm Edwards.

Well latest report is that a personell guy from Philly just stated he's no longer wanting the Browns GM job. Rubecube probably knows the guys name, but Philly has a pretty good track record of success and solid personell.
A station in KC is reporting that Pioli has been offered the Chiefs job and they're trying to negotiate compensation, control and the like. I guess we'll see how this plays out. From what I've been able to find out about Clark Hunt his closest associate in the NFL is one of Kraft's son's so I can see why he would look at someone from New England, especially a guy with Pioli's track record. I guess he's the sexy choice that fans and media seem to want.

The fact that he has been reinstated and given this many chances really takes the teeth out of the "Player Conduct Policy" that the NFL has been weilding at will the past few seasons.
Make Pac-Man/Adam Jones the first player to be barred for life from the NFL... which should have happened a year ago anyways. Michael Vick should be the second.

I think its a good sign for the Chiefs that Pioli has not signed with the Browns. If I was looking for a GM job, KC would be at the top of my list (hey, I know I'm biased). Ownership lets you run things without meddling. I think in the 49 year history of the Dallas Texans / Kansas City Chiefs they have had only 4 GM's. Not sure who the GM was initially, Hank Stram, Jack Steadman, Carl Peterson. That should give any potential GM some comfort that ownership will be patient.

But the thing is there is new ownership.
Clark may run the team the same as his father, but there are no guarantees. I'm sure NFL people will have an idea of how much like his father Clark is, but until there is a little bit of history I doubt anyone can be sure.

Doesn't a suspended player's salary go to the retirement fund?
By allowing PacMan play and be suspended, they may solve the destitute players fund shortfall!

Also they have a new stadium (arrowhead makeover) so finances shouldnt be a huge problem.

Tom Heckert. Apparently he's a great football man to have back there, as tracked by Philly's success in drafting and bringing in talent.
Word is he pulled himself out of the running after the Browns hired Mangini. Why you would hire a coach before a GM is beyond me....
Just please don't take Leslie Frazier.....PLEASE!!! We already lost Mike freaking Tomlin, don't do it to us again. Take Childress if you want, he's greeeeat!

I thought it was the Players Emergency Fund? That could be synonymous with retirement fund or I'm thinking of a different league (the NHL?).
I like your thinking - forcing owners who sign dumb players like this to fix the NFL's retirement fund problem.
