Who said that it was Huberdeau making excuses? It’s posters making excuses for him.

I’d be much better value for this franchise than you.
$60m. And the fans could boo me until they pass out.

Oh but you'd want it in Quid, so I win on Currency Conversion! Hahaha!!

Haven’t given up hope he figures things out in the 2nd half of the season here. Let’s go Huberdeau.

The poster I was responding to - “he has no more excuses”.
And I don’t see many posters making excuses for him. What you see as excuses are actually posters saying either what isn’t working versus what worked for him before or offering possible solutions (as per the actual thread title).
But let’s suppose there are posters making excuses. The statement is still silly.

He said he was unhappy with his play. You wanted him to be happy about it?

Who cares? Whats the difference? Happy or unhappy he is still underperforming.
Sutter or no Sutter.

I don’t know, just hope he still has it and come out of it somehow
I do not think he completely lost it. But some changes has to be made either from himself or his line mates. One thing for sure is he is not going to come out of it if Huska refuses to use him on key opportunities

Would you? Its not as though he hasnt gotten those opportunities as much as he hasnt done anything with them.
I wouldnt throw out Huberdeau in a clutch situation.
Huska has tried that. Put him out when the game is on the line. He's put him out when nothing was on the line. He's benched him. Whats next?
Get Huberdeau serving the boys Pocket Dawgs at intermission?

He's not on PP1. He's on PP2 (which was the unit that scored the last nice PP goal). And in the last shootout he made the best attempt other than Sharangovich.

That's what I'm saying. Should he be on PP1? Or should he be the go-to on the shootout?

The ability is still there. We saw it just last game. He had a string of shifts in the 2nd and 3rd period where every time he stepped onto the ice he created for his teammates with his playmaking. It's honestly absurd the amount of times he has received the "third assist" on a play this season. Obviously he needs to do that far more consistently, but that comes with confidence. He needs some damn puck luck and some finishing talent alongside him.
Hopefully he can come in refreshed mentally after the holidays.

He has zero points in December. I don't think it's just bad luck.

No forward on the team was on the ice for more scoring chances or high danger looks at five on five the entire month than Huberdeau. The fact he got zero points is in fact incredibly unlucky. Clearly he needs to be better, I am not denying that, but he also needs some things to start breaking his way as well.

No, it's partly his confidence and partly a bargain bin coach who doesn't put him in the right position to succeed.

yet again another excuse, coaches fault he cant get 1 single point for an entire month? would love to know what you think the bargain bin coach can do, we also had a coach of the year who couldnt get him in a position to succeed? maybe bring Scotty Bowman out of retirement? This team owes it to the rest of the team to allow them to play their best and succeed and not hold the hand of a guy who likely isnt happy here and his play shows that.

What opportunity hasn't he got? They've tried him pretty much everywhere. At this point I'd say it is confidence probably brought on by the Flames style of play not suiting his style. Great players adapt. Tkachuk handled the transition just fine. If you need absolutely perfect circumstances to be useful, you are not worth 10.5M. I hope he figures it out, because he is obviously very talented... but with every game I am getting less optimistic.

This thread moves in 3 post sequences.
1) a post criticizing Huberdeau
2) a Hue believer saying no one is making excuses for him
3) another excuse made for Huberdeau
Now it's the coaches fault again; just like the old coach.
