Starting tomorrow afternoon until Sunday there will be increased spawns of grass-type Pokemon. Maybe I can get a whole bunch of Exeggcutes and some cool starters.
I like the idea that they might do many more smaller events like this in addition to the bigger ones.

Caught a Houndour today to get to Pokedex 221.
Grass event isn't too exciting here in Calgary. Mostly a few more chikoritas, that's about it to really be excited about.
I may have caught my first 0% IV Pokemon. But pokegenie can't tell me if it's 0/0/0, or 1/1/1. What can I do to find out?

If the appraisal doesn't help you might need to power it. Up and take a new screenshot, and then merge the 2 scans in the app. Not a bad deal if it's a low level common, but crappy otherwise.
My brother and I went and played in South Glenmore Park this evening. It was pretty great. We started at the dog park at the far west end of 90th and walked past Glenmore landing, then back. At places there are so many spawns you'd have to stop walking for several minutes to catch everything. We got 4 Magikarps each, which have been scarce for us since the water event. We also saw our first wild Dratini ever, which was neat. There are a good number of stops on the pathway, but you'd need to have a stockpile of balls before going to catch everything. Got about 85 Pokemon in 90 minutes.
Go figure, as we were getting close to home in Copperfield, we saw another Dratini a block from our house. It's by far the most rare Pokemon we've seen around here. Got both of them with Pinaps, which I guess saves me 70 km of walking towards my Dragonite.

Powered it up, it was just a Pidgey.
It's 1/1/1.

I'm glad since I'm only level 28 Mystic so I have some chance of putting something in a gym now. Not sure if it's part of the spoof thing or not, but at least I can get a couple of coins here and there vs. before where it would always be stagnant level 30+ that take the lions share of everything.

One of the super high-level valors in that area was on vacation for 3 weeks. She's back now, it'll go red again.

Did anyone here see an increase in grass-types for the worldwide bloom event?
I definitely didn't, and apparently I'm not alone. I'm pretty much always in the inner city and just outside though, so maybe you had to be in more grassy areas?

We saw a lot of Exeggcute and increased numbers of Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Oddish and while not grass type, we saw a lot of Cubone.

I caught 56 Exeggcutes, and a nice assortment of other random grass stuff. Came up short on where I wanted to be with Bulbasaur and Chikorita candies, but they're at least within a manageable walking distance now. I'll definitely be able to evolve and power up 2-3 Exeggutors, which is great, because I had caught 2 Exeggcutes all time going into the event.
Also, I'm less than a week from hitting 30. Exciting!

I caught a whole bunch of exeggcute, and some more Chikorita, sunkern and Bulbasaur than usual.
I have more than 100 chikorita candies now, so I could evolve a Meganium, but I'm waiting for 125 candies so that I can evolve my best Chikorita all the way.

Update - Pokedex 223
Still Need:
Typhosion (78 candies)
Togetic (43 candies)
Flaaffy (19 candies)
Ampharos (100 Candies)
Unown
Forretress (16 candies)
Houndoom (47 candies)
Militank
Pupitar (4 candies)
Tyranitar (100 candies)
Caught enough Chikorita during the event to evolve a Meganium, just moments after actually trying to catch a Meganium in the wild.
Hatched my first Larvitar today.
I now have 6 unused evolution items in my bag.
Also just collected from a gym for the first time in weeks. The turnover on these has gone way down, so I've rarely come across gyms that were "easy to take".

If by chance anyone is looking for Girafarig, I have noticed they spawn everyday at lunch in that park at 8th & 8th. You know, where the sculpture of the guy playing chess is. The Chick Pea is nearby too if you need a donair fix.

I have now got 4 metal coats in a row and have 6 unused items as well. It's nuts and I can't seem to get the sunstone and kings rock I need. Hopefully this next 7 day streak is better.
