I’m fine with this move, especially with Trump’s lumber and dairy tariffs supposedly coming sometime this week. And I assume Ford ran this plan by the Feds first before implementing it.
I just want Ford to ease up on the rhetoric a little bit in regards to shutting off the power completely. Canada has to be very careful here not to escalate anything and make things worse than they already are.
Just my opinion, and in consideration of who / what America is- there is no avoiding escalation. You either roll over or be viewed as the aggressor. Propaganda is a real thing.
It's like he's a tape recorder stuck on infinite loop. I tuned in for the last 5min and it was all Carbon Tax Carney's carbon tax will be taxing on steel workers who use carbon that'll be taxed in Carbon Carney's carbon tax policy.
It is a literally a market advertising tactic called 'repetitive association'. If you keep parroting the same things over and over again, it is proven to work.
It wasn't that long ago when all of the childish, bully name calling crept into political messaging. I think this either started with, or really amped up, during Trump 1.0. 'Crooked Hilary' is the first example that comes to mind.
If you keep repeating that message over and over again, people begin to believe it. If you can successfully associate some denigrating adjective to someone's name then it is extremely difficult to reverse those perceptions. How many of these bully names have been used since this started? It's infuriatingly childish but, sadly, it works.
So, 'Little PP Energy' keeps using repetitive association with his slogans that make 'common sense conservatives' seem like the 'only choice anyone with a brain would make' over anyone on the 'looney left'.
'Carbon-tax Carney' is going to be pushed hard because 'Little PP Energy' already platformed so hard on abolishing it that he would be stupid to try and associate something else with why you should vote PC.

It's not the first time politicians have had nicknames but this is all bully tactics designed to make his opponents all look diminished.
'Little PP Energy' is just using the same tactics. Never actually talks about a political platform. Always just name calling and repeating that they're the only 'common sense' choice.
