I knew quite a few fat (really fat) white guys that dropped dead soon after they turned 50.

That sucks, and I think it has a lot to do with our 'Work Culture.'
We work and work and work and thats it. Theres no balance.
I remember about 5 years ago my former Doctor told me:
"Did you know that a sedentary lifestyle of office-work and sitting at a desk is bad for you?"
Well...no #### Sherlock! They should tell us that in University as they train us to be desk-bound. But I'm beaten all to hell from years of sports and make a living sitting at a desk. Lets hear your solution Aristotle.
I remember having a client, he was a really successful car salesman, but he was a raging alcoholic, to the point where he actually hired a chauffeur. He cleaned up his act, quit the sauce, started exercising a fair bit, lost a ton of weight, got a clean bill of health and then immediately died. Didn't even touch 60.

Dude, Ozempic that ####. I dropped 25 pounds over four months. Been tapering off the past six weeks or so now and haven't gained any back. Totally helped me change my habits.

I do love that CRA has an option for 'A softer version of our otherwise preposterously obnoxious hold music' option.
Because, yeah, I'd love to have Big Band Brass music blasted at me for seemingly hours on end.
Now I have 'music to go to sleep by.'
Thanks guys. Top notch work.

Yeah those desk jobs are the worst, sounds to me like you need to get into a less taxing line of work. Have you considered switching fields to something that’s a little easier on your body? Like say working at a bus depot?

You could have spelled Gulab Jamun backwards and I wouldn’t have known any better.

Calm before the storm when you deal with CRA agents inexplicably making erroneous statements that are incorrect.
"I have to talk to the taxpayer."
"They passed away last year."
"Doesn't matter. The policy has always been that we must deal with the taxpayer before the legal and authorized representative."

Yeah.
"But we need this information!!"
Good luck with that, you're going to need a shovel and a really good psychic medium.

People that don't read contracts grind me gears
If I bring you on as a contractor I expect you to abide by the contract.

That was my problem!! They insisted on talking to Locke for my dead dad’s stuff. I’m the fataing executor.
Owed $11k on his estate, paid the instalments. Hear nothing for 8 months. Then find out we owe $16k because of penalties. Locke has to go in to the account because I don’t know that stuff.
The money went into his “2025 account” FFS. I didn’t know there were accounts but I guess that makes sense if you owe tonnes over multiple years.
Ahh I’ll just get them to move that money sitting there. Nope not that easy. They said it’s their fault. I have to apply and after 28 business days some magic might happen and then I can ask on his behalf. The incredulousness while talking is just amazing.
