And not to take away from the current Cup winner, but between them and Tampa, the league can now see the importance of fully embracing and using LTIR to their advantage. I can see it becoming more of a necessity than a loophole to icing a true contender in the playoffs.
The league will either start to cap playoff salary cap or teams will start/continue to integrate it into their strategy with players that "won't be quite ready to play by our standards until playoffs and now we went and acquired a star at the deadline that puts us over the top".
And the problem with that, is that some legitimate injuries to players is being lumped in with the more suspicious behaviour, and gets the waters muddied.
I've never really understood why the teams in the playoffs are not subject to a salary cap. I know it would curtail deadline deals which is more of a benefit to the non-playoff teams.
If you didn't watch the Finals then it wasn't because of if it was June 13 or May 25. You didn't like the teams. If it was the Flames playing for the Cup we'd watch any time of year.

Who have been the best ones in the past? From what I remember, Quick in LA, Ovi in Washington, and of course Brett "We went Blues!" Hull were all pretty wasted.
