I finished Westworld S3. Some definite weak spots, especially the action parts felt hilariously unrealistic, even for a world full of sentient androids. I think every action sequence was eyeroll inducing. It makes stormtroopers look intelligent sharpshooters. People just getting killed and shot in busy public places and nothing happens, no one bats and eye.
But the overall themes of self determination, right to life, free will, technological manipulation of humans etc were all amazingly well done.
It was like the Matrix, Robocop, Minority Report, AI, I, Robot and that Robin Williams robot butler movie all rolled into one. Shades of Paycheck with Ben Affleck too.
Can’t wait for season 4.

Just finished Midnight Mass Really enjoyed it. The setting and the music were perfect. Very good performances from the entire cast. I know some people thought it was a bit monologue heavy which I respect, but I enjoyed the monologues and they added to my interest and engagement in the characters. Now I'm going to try to find some similiar series to enjoy.

Parts of it. There are some fantastic performances from a few of the actors and the premise is interesting, but there are a few characters that are extremely annoying and get too much screen time. Plus there are some non-Korean actors that are in a few episodes and they are absolutely awful, they take you out of the show completely. If they would have cut those and cut an episode or two off to make a tighter story it would have been a great show

I also have anxiety so watching the sniper scene really made my anxiety flare up so maybe that's why I didn't like first episode. Actually had to turn it off.
I jumped aboard the Squid hype train and it's decent enough after watching the first 2 episodes. Bit of a slow burn for sure though. I thought episode one made things interesting at the end, but then it went back to being a bit lame with episode two (other then the first 15 minutes). Seems like that was the main filler episode though, so should be better from here.

This is definitely not your show then, it only gets worse moving forward.

You’ve probably seen them but I believe midnight mass was made by the people who made the haunting of hill house and Blythe manor? Same actors and similar styles. I would recommend them. They are on Netflix
Started Midnight Mass last night. Definitely got a nice vibe around it after watching episode 1. Good introduction to the characters and scenery. Looking forward to seeing how it all develops.
Tried Truth be Told on Apple TV + and it was good. It is Octavia Spencer as a podcaster that is doing a Serial type podcast. Its interesting and enjoyable.

I need a new TV series to get into (old or new) v2
I’ve been watching American Rust with Jeff Daniels and Maura Tierney. It’s pretty good.
I also watched a show called The Investigation. A true crime story about the murder of Kim Wall. The dogged determination of the Investigators to solve this crime was amazing. So many setbacks but they refused to give up. Pretty interesting.

You nailed it, episode 2 was filler and it rockets from there.
