Celebrated Square Root Day

Any good attendance eyeballers here? What are we thinking tonight, 33k ish?
For reference, yesterday was 27k and Tuesday was 26k. It looks to be a few thousand more tonight than the past two days.

Looks a bit bigger than last night, and that was 27k? Probably 30ish.
Incidentally, before this homestand (before the trades), the Jays were averaging 28,691. In the nine games since (not including tonight), the Jays have averaged 33,409. A nearly 17% jump. And that entire Yankees series next weekend is virtually sold out.

I've been a very casual Jays fan for a while now. I've also watched more baseball this week than the last 2+ years combined. This is fun! I do usually watch the playoffs, but so rarely regular season

Big lead, overly rested bullpen, old pitcher. Makes sense to me. You can't just let some of these guys in the pen go a week without pitching.

I'm so excited that I want Antithesis to make the Yankees series thread tonight so we can start !!! Don't feel obligated, though.

I haven't been this excited about the Blue Jays since...well '93 I guess. I really don't want this ride to end. Please, please, please whup the Yankees this weekend and make it a real race down the stretch. Should be an exciting series to watch.

I was 7 and 8 years old when the Jay won their Pennants, so this is the most excited I've been since ever!

The best thing about that win was the defense. It was so weak for the first half of the season, but it has been great lately.
Everything is coming together!
Man, I can't wait for the Yankee series. Except everything I have learned in my lifetime with respect to sports says that, when I am this jacked, I am going to be disappointed.

LF & SS were weak. I think the rest of the d has been solid all year - Pillar has been super, Donaldson is great, Martin has a gun and calls a great game.
So saying "It was so weak" is hyperbole. Reyes made too many costly mistakes but there were already a bunch of solid pieces in place.

Jays going into New York at the perfect time. The entire lineup is as hot as a pistol and they could not be feeling better about themselves. My God am I fired up. Can't wait till tomorrow night.

It isn't hyperbole. There were pieces in place, but far too many nights it wasn't good enough.
Bad defense - and good defense - is contagious. There were far too many games where the defense just fell apart or got sloppy and it cost them the win.
IMO, Reyes was a major catalyst for that, and the change to Tulo has really solidified the right side, which is so important. And you can see their confidence is higher now. It's palpable.
