I think we pool some money together to pay for InSutterWeTrust to go on vacations with his camera.

For the guys doing panoramics, is it in camera or post-processing?

I've been doing panorama's since 2007 and now use AutoPano Giga. It's strictly for panorama's and does an amazing job (even better than Photoshop and the other multifaceted software.

Lots of P&S cameras have built-in pano features, but I'd rather do it myself in post.

I think you need to go out and buy you're own camera already.

Or better yet, learn about the one you (presumably) already have.

I use the same software as Regulator (after he recommended it to me upon my request for what he was using).

It's pretty slick and easy to use... sure lots of P&S's and Phone Cameras can do it in camera, but I like to be able to work with RAW files, so Autopano Giga is great to toss everything in after a trip through Lightroom.

Here two similar pics from today (scrambled Bow Peak... successfully this time. Last time up with the wife, she had to turn back before the summit).

One taken with my DSLR, processed in Lightroom and assembled with Autopano Giga.... the other taken with the iPhone5's new pano feature (straight out of the camera, I did nothing to it).
The DSLR/Lightroom version is heavily processed and looks more like a painting than a photo. Not the best lighting today (flat, grey, cloudy, etc), so you do what you can.

The 2nd looks like the only thing separating Mars and the Rockies, is a beautiful blue lake.

Yea don't do it, it's crap.

I got a shot of pain in my knee today, that I was certain when I looked down at it, my kneecap would have been exploded out of my body... my knees are finished. I think today was the last hike of the year... well, maybe one more next Sunday. But then that's it. Hibernation time.
