I always respected Jane Goodall as someone who came from relatively high privilege and chose to do as much good as possible with it in a field she was passionate about. Without the family business connections in colonial Kenya, she probably wouldn't have had the opportunity to study chimps at an early age or be one of a very small number of people allowed to go for a PHD before even having a bachelor's degree.
The positive contributions that she made in primate research, animal and ecological activism can't be denied and she didn't squander the chance to use her lot in life to do good.

By the time the cover story (on Intelligent Design) crossed my desk, there was one afternoon to concept, design, and ship. Running on fumes, I grabbed a stock photo of a chimp (seemed like a decent visual for the subject), slapped on some type, and sent it off.
A month later, we got a letter from Jane Goodall. At first, I thought, “Damn, she noticed us!”. But instead of praise, it was a polite but pointed lecture: studio chimp photos are forced and highly stressful for the animals…and a science magazine should know better. Don’t do it again.
Two decades later, every time I see a chimp photo, I chuckle about being scolded by Jane Goodall.
I had 3 hours, lady! But yeah...I get it.

John Lodge, the legendary bassist and vocalist of The Moody Blues, has died. He was 82.
https://www.foxnews.com/entertainmen...-lodge-dead-82
Lodge was a pivotal force behind the group’s groundbreaking fusion of orchestral rock and psychedelia.
His contributions to albums like 1967's "Days of Future Passed" and 1968's "In Search of the Lost Chord" set the tone for the rock movement.

It's not. Closest to hell he got were the years he spent in prison and knowing he was in a position to have a great life and destroyed it. He was beyond disgusting, mentally deranged.

Wow, WTF...
I was literally talking about him with my wife the other day about how he had some big musical moments and then sort of disappeared. She had never seen the video for Untitled (how does it feel?) and so I had to show it to her (reluctantly) as an example of one of the sexiest videos I've ever seen.
He was really talented. I always wanted to hear more from him. This makes me extra sad because I know how sudden and awful pancreatic cancer is. We lost a cousin a few years ago to it after a 6 year battle against stage 4 pancreatic cancer, leaving behind a wife and two young daughters. It has one of the lowest survivability rates out there and typically kills younger people.
Brutal news.

Drew Struzan, the absolutely iconic movie poster artist has passed away. It was announced early in the year that he'd been battling Alzheimer’s for a while.

If you're in your 30s-50s, Struzan probably did the movie poster to your favourite childhood movie.
It would be damn tough to pick my favourite but if I had to pick one it would be The Goonies.

Never occurred to me to be 'into' movie posters, but now that you mention it I can understand the appreciation. Previous to now, I don't think I ever thought once about them.
I love band leaflets. I have a bunch from when I used to go to small shows all the time from ages 16 - 25. They're all, like, a quarter page or something. I love the artwork and style of them.
