Jets have extended Todd Bowles' contract. Jay Gruden probably staying in Washington, and the Bucs are keeping Dirk Koetter.

I absolutely get the first two, but Koetter? After that season? Joke.

Packers are re-signing WR Davante Adams to a 4 year contract worth 58m.

Which means you can say goodbye to Jordy Nelson and/or Randall Cobb.

Bucs are a totally underrated team in the "dumpster fire organization" category.

I know we had a thread for NFL gambling but couldnt find it so I will just throw this in here.

If you play a pro-line ticket on tomorrows games and just take 6 division champions,

Vikings, Eagles, Rams, Steelers at home
Jaguars, Saints on the road

play them all to win for 10 bucks? Take home $737.50

Some crazy good value out there although much of it is based on backup players in many positions. I think they over value that myself as their opponents are playing for nothing and just as likely to see how lower tiered depth chart guys perform in a bigger role. Thats how you evaluate things.

Yeah I didn't do a thread this year. I'm actually having a decent enough year, too, but I'm completely bailing on week 17.

lol....i get it.

I am still astounded that the Cowboys are favorites on the road in Philly though, along with the 49ers over the Rams in LA.

I gotta play me some of that.

The Oakland Raiders are preparing to pursue ESPN analyst Jon Gruden with an offer so strong it could even include an ownership stake in the teams, according to league sources.

Gruden will be tempted to accept it, according to sources, but would prefer not to make any decisions until the regular season finishes Sunday and the Raiders make a final determination on their current head coach, Jack Del Rio, who signed a contract extension last summer.

And the Eagles probably are going to take it easy with their starters this week. Same for the Rams.

I think the opposition is going to do the same. Its guys you havent seen when the live bullets fly and a chance to evaluate them under fire.

As well as this...

Quote:
Eagles coach Doug Pederson said he wants all the starters to play Sunday against the Cowboys. DE Brandon Graham (ankle) will be the exception. Some players, like Nick Foles, won't play the whole game. Pederson will go partly off feel in deciding when to pull some of the key starters.

an ohio man’s tongue-in-cheek obituary blames the winless cleveland browns for contributing to his demise.

The obituary published in the sandusky register says paul stark died wednesday at a hospice facility after a brief illness “exacerbated by the hopeless condition of the cleveland browns.”

the football team was 1-15 last season and 0-15 this year ahead of sunday’s finale in pittsburgh.

Even so, stark’s obituary included a nugget of the optimism voiced by some long-suffering fans.

It says the 80-year-old mansfield native “passed just before the browns were prepared to turn the corner.”

Steelers resting Roethlisberger and Bell today, maybe a couple more. Stupid if you ask me, given that they have a bye anyway ... but what do I know.

If the Browns can't beat Landry Jones, Stevan Ridley and friends, then they really deserve their place in the history books.

Tomlin showing Hue a little sympathy? Just imagine if the Patriots lose and the Browns win. As far as Gruden goes, as someone who got to watch him coach for the better part of 7 years...ownership share? Really? Gruden left Oakland and Tampa in the same situation when his tenure was over: with an aging roster and very little in terms of young talent developed where his track record is pretty poor. Good coach and all, but for an ownership share you should be talking about a coach basically being at the Belichick level. Gruden isn't even close to that. I personally think J. Harbaugh is a better coach.

Steelers Inactives
No. 7 QB Ben Roethlisberger
No. 24 CB Coty Sensabaugh
No. 26 RB Le'Veon Bell
No. 53 C Maurkice Pouncey
No. 66 OG David DeCastro
No. 84 WR Antonio Brown
No. 97 DE Cameron Heyward

lol. Will be an uphill battle for the Browns if they want to stay perfect.

I want JDR fired but not if it brings Gruden in. I know Gruden is going to want his say on the roster and draft and the man does not have a good eye for talent. If anyone has watched him at the draft salivate over Johnny Football and Tim Tebow would know. I'm hoping this is just him just keeping his name out there for relevance.

Strange they would do that when the weather is bad and the Jets could beat NE.

I was curious what kind of year Myles Garrett had. Six sacks, missed some games to injury.

Bah, I get the Titans/Jags isn’t a top seller up here but I’m pretty disappointed the game isn’t televised, no better or worse than the Bengals/Ravens that is on.
Hopefully the Titans don’t suck today!
