As soon as I heard pillar was pinch hitting, I lost all faith.

When the hitting is on the pitching is off, and when the pitching is on the hitting is off.

Hutchison not off to a great start, 4-2 Orioles top of the 2nd.

What happened to Loup? He was money earlier on, lately he's been pretty awful.

Just gave up a 3-run triple, now 7-2 Orioles.

Man, the fans are jacked there tonight. Between the Nats clinching and the Orioles just about to, I think there might be a few hangovers tomorrow in that part of the country.

While brushing it off and taking no action was obviously the right thing to do, I was still a little sad that the Jays didn't put a fastball into the meaty part of an Orioles' batter's thigh after O'Day deliberately threw at Bautista. And given how much of a whiny baby Buck Showalter is, you can pretty much guarantee that O'Day was throwing at people on manager's orders.

He's not the only reason the team has been disappointing, but I'd be shocked if he's back.

I'm not sure he gets canned as the deflector for the failure of AA. The team never addressed the problems that they had last season. They are weak up the middle. They at least have some promising young guys on the mound but positionally. Shortstop is sad and Reyes was a major dud of a pickup. I have seen suggestions they move him to 2nd and go out and get a real SS. Lawrie is injured too much to even pencil in at 3rd.

It's AA who should be under the gun.

who's the SS to get? I think SS and 2B and position that have to be home grown and not bought. Only starting pitching and power hitters should be bought.

So Stroman throws at Josephs head the night before and gets suspended for 6 games and then Loup plunks Markasis before the Orioles retaliate and Showwalter is the whiny baby? What a joke.

Only an idiot would think Loup wanted to hit a guy with runners on the corners, down by two and the Jays desperately needing a win. The very fact that O'Day went out to retaliate for that demonstrates that he should have been suspended also. And yes, Showalter is a whiny baby who should be sitting in the stands for a few games as well for sending O'Day out to do it.

Are you talking the ideal way to build a team, or how to correct the Blue Jays?

Starting pitching is the one commodity that absolutely has to be home grown. A true ace pitcher on the Free agency market will cost you 25-32 per season. To me that's way too much for a 150 payroll team to shell out for a once every 5 day player unless it's getting you Clayton Kershaw. Let alone fill the other 4 spots in your rotation.

I personally think you can spend on hitters so long as they are durable and productive. Reyes as an example just isn't durable enough, neither is Lawrie, or Lind and realistically Bautsita also has some durability issues plus EE is getting to an age where injuries may become more common. that is pretty much the entire meat of your order particularly if you included Melky Cabrera who also isn't that durable anymore.

Next year will be interesting. Melky won't be back, neither will Colby Rasmus. The result is a pretty lousy looking outfield unless they go out and get another hitter. Neither one of Gose or Pilar has any business being an everyday player. Than in the infield 2B is still a hole and than you potentially have 3 other positions where durability is a huge concern. They will have to do a lot more this offseason to even match the record they'll achieve this year.

Forgive me for having my doubts that Rogers will pony up the funds to keep him.

Why didn't the Jays lock him up earlier in the season when it was obvious he was a valuable part of the team? Now they'll either have to pay more, or lose him altogether.
