When you're somewhere without a bidet, all I know is you have to spit on the toilet paper first like a porn star about to SAD.

About the only thing worse is the auto towel dispenser that gives about 3” length of thin paper towel to dry your hands with.
Yeah yeah first world Problems.

If the toilet has flushed down the load before you begin wiping, then it seems that at least some of the flushing work was already done pre-wipe. Why would it have trouble with a TP-only flush then? Seems like there is less material to potentially prevent a complete toilet bowl cleanse. Did the tank not refill fully between the time of post-deuce flush and post-wipe flush?

GMG that I've had a really bad run of luck of handshake agreements seemingly being meaningless.

Worked for a guy, then had to chase payment for over a week passed the promised pay-day. Then a week later he calls me asking me to come in, offering to pick me up from home and drive me to the site, so I leave my Friday night early and end up spending $30 at the end of a cross town train ride for a cab home to be ready to go. MFer doesn't show or text or anything, thus wasted my Friday night AND Saturday morning.

Worked for another guy and now I'm chasing payment from him, once again past the promised pay-day, and the re-promised one, and the re-promised one after that. And this isn't a small amount of money (at least not to me).

Is there something I can do to better protect myself against this sort of thing? I'm just picking up random construction jobs from Kijiji so its like I'm a sub-sub contractor? Not new to construction but definitely new to dealing with this kind of thing, so is this the Kijiji norm or just a run of bad luck? Both guys were working for legit contractors/condo boards.

1. Request 50% upfront, 50% upon work completion.

2. If possible, get a very simple, small, short one page contract they sign before work starts. Likely has to be very simple and very short to get people to sign it.

3. Threaten (and be prepared) to take to small claims court for a prolonged delays (3 or more promises and failures to pay maybe). Be reasonable / fair.

The second job I mentioned was piece-work, so I'm not sure how the 50% up front would work on that. If he paid me 50% up front and I didn't even do half the job?

Unfortunately in this case I can't wait for small claims court and if I can't get this sorted come September 1st I'm going to be in trouble.

It’s an office tower and so lots of pressure direct from pipe and no tank. But yeah it just keeps flushing. So if you’ve had to double wipe then that’s 3 flushes. Oh and the taps gush water if you’re within 2meters of them. But getting paper towel is brutal… maybe 3” at a time. And the mens change room faucet has a continual flow whether used or not (it used to drip 4mo ago but has increased) Supposedly for an environmentally friendly building. Notes to bldg services go ignored.

Okay. I was under the impression that the initial pre-flush prevented the subsequent TP from going down.

The lack of consideration people have for each other is shockingly low.
The worst spot for this: at the end of an escalator. Literally a motorized stair is going to dump people onto you if you don't keep ####ing moving, but some people are so daft they will stop at the landing to "get their bearings".

My mother is especially bad for this, she's an absentminded old lady with incredibly poor spatial awareness. She stops in the middle of doorways, blocks aisles at the grocery store, stands in front of elevator doors... I have had to guide her out of the way at the top of an escalator, and she had no idea why. She was mad at me! Indignant! My dad is legally blind and has much better awareness of his surroundings.

I use Outlook.com for my personal email and up until recently it's been fine. But in the last few weeks their spam filtering has been absolutely awful, I'm getting a dozen or so obvious phishing emails everyday that never show up in my gmail account. Looking at one example, you'd think it would be easily flagged and dumped. How is this garbage getting through?

^^ I wish there was a way to filter out any emails with non-standard characters in the headers. 100% of the spam that makes it past the junk-mail filters has emoticons or non-regx stuff in the subject line.

I've been getting those DHL spams also. Several per week.

A friend fell for it. Not sure how lol, since they're using unusual characters in the subject line, and any legit company wouldn't send emails like that, but turns out people are paranoid enough about missing a shipment that they'll take the bait.

I've been seeing a LOT of those DHL e-mails but they've mostly been ending up in my Junk Mail folder. However, a few have definitely started slipping through, so I've been reporting them.

Also been getting these “from” UPS, DHL, and Express.
Super annoying and repetitive, daily, for last few weeks.

Someone needs to hit Kolkata with an EMP.

Just think of the peace that would follow.

There aren't enough Jim Brownings out there, sadly.

How do you know you are doing it right and not teaching your child incorrectly if we can't even have a discussion about basic human functions. I mean i've heard many a story of people standing up to wipe, imagine teaching that method for generations to come.

I hear that standing wipers will use the shower curtain if the roll is empty.

Women and cars. Don’t worry babe, it’s only the second largest capital expenditure of your life, and you want to keep it for 10 years, yeah go ahead and run all the dirt and grime right into the paintwork

In the unicode world this is very difficult since what was once ASCII only occupies a tiny portion of that gigantic character set.
