End of day Friday announcement. They really don't want us talking about it.
The reality is, a growing community the size of Airdrie needs an actual real hospital. The fact that isn't even in the discussion is pathetic and laughable, and also par for the course for Conservative governments in this province. Zero future foresight on healthcare and education. None.

Not entirely correct, the future foresight is there. It’s to have it fail and let private industry take over.

But it's not even a hospital. That's the lack of foresight. Smith talks of massive population growth in Alberta, well, maybe prepare for it? Calgary's hospitals would see a relief by Airdrie having one. They also "paused" the hospital that was being planned for South Edmonton. Seriously, how are Albertans supposed to get hospital care if we are growing and not adding any? Can't we get leaders who aren't ####ing stupid? Please?

He also stupidly posted his stamps online in a sad attempt at winning at argument, man it would be a shame if one of the many versions of AI could decipher his name from his stamp. It would be even worse if this info made it to the appropriate regulatory bodies lol.

I get where you're coming from, I do...but did he really do that?
Thats actually pretty funny...

I did; I shouldn't have, admittedly. It was childish and stupid.
I see PaperBagger is still super butthurt about losing that argument, which all began with his pants-on-head stupid assertion that the Canadian Electrical Code dictates that light bulb replacements must be done by electricians. He should be charging me rent to live in his head; hard to believe he still won't let it go.
I'm sure his "who's the most annoying poster on CalgaryPuck?" thread was directed at me. What a lunatic.

The level of stupidity one must have to think they won an argument when in actuality they just blocked the other person is quite impressive. Must be hard being wrong all the time.
Anyways the argument wasn’t about changing a lightbulb being done by an an electrician, it’s that it has to be permitted. But details arent Timuns strong suit. And it was proven exhaustively that he was wrong, so he blocked me because I insulted him for it. In doing so he also renegged on a donation to a Ukrainian charity. Bang up guy!

UCP planning to give away more taxpayer money to Oil and Gas companies to clean up abandoned wells the OG companies are legally required to clean up. Brian Jean confirmed the upcoming plans.

Hey cities, they may owe you huge amounts of backtaxes, but you need to show compassion and lower your tax rate. These poor companies are being unfairly oppressed by your requests for tax collection.
Unbelievable.

Steal from the poor to give to the mega rich. The "UCP/Trickle Down Economics/late stage capitalism" way.

This is rich, considering some of the extremely lavish O+G parties I've been to, where money is tossed around like it's an infinite resource.
I'm pro O+G, but have zero sympathy or empathy for a 'they won't be able to pay taxes' argument.

Guess all the Green Line money went to subsidize OG companies to clean up their wells and to line consultant/contractor pockets.

More tax breaks for the same oil companies that are stacking cash right now, still laying off folks in droves (e.g. Suncor's 2-3k layoffs last year), and doing share buybacks instead of reinvesting for growth.
It's a good thing the UCP are the party of strong fiscal management and economic growth.

Things have seemingly calmed entirely down in government offices, for the record. The pants on fire of 2 weeks ago seems to have totally quelled. It is eerie.
Not sure if this is a "nothing to see here" Iraq PR officer type of moment or if they successfully closed the closet door, but it's been interesting dealing with various aspects of government over the last month.
