Followed by a bad approach by Kirk. When he's rolling over the ball and trying to pull it, you're going to have a bad time.

Won’t comment on the sub. Might be the right play.
But got to feel dumb as a manager when you put in a pinch hitter and he’s whiffed on 3 pitches.

Damn. Jano hit it well just right at 3B. That Springer AB really was atrocious.

A ####ty night for Schneider. Got greedy with Richards and the Springer sub was utterly brain dead.

I’ve been unimpressed with Schneider a lot. And tonight is just another example of why.

Anyone still think there's no problem with the pitching quality? The way I look at it this is where they should be making a deal for a bonafide long reliever or set up man. This is a tough division and it needs to be done soon. Really wish in the past they didn't give away so many prospects in certain deals (like the Barrios one), where even if we had to overpay this would be the time to do it. Not sure who they'd have to give up as Espinal or Biggio aren't killing it to make it worth a teams' time, and their prospects they have at the top have high ceilings. Tough place to be unless you deal a guy like Jansen.

They’ll get Chad Green and Ryu at the ASB. Green if he’s good to go likely is the number 2 with Swanson behind Romano.

Good point but I don't know about relying on guys coming back from injuries. I keep making Riccardi comparisons about this issue, but it's a hope. Ultimately when it doesn't work out, you can't claim injuries prevented you as those were known issues heading in. I don't mind a guy or two where you hope for a rebound but you don't rely on it. In this case they'd be relying on a hope and that's a big miss to me.

So... if you want to bet on a longshot right now, just based on where they sit and how much ground they have to make up, you're better off betting on the White Sox to win the central than on the Jays to win the East, I guess.

Probably! I think the Rays are still playing with house money. They are getting around 950 OPS from Raley, Arozarena and Josh Lowe. Don’t get me wrong, the Rays are a good team. Are those three Mike Trouts in one line up? No.

Good ol' fashioned pitchers duel going on. A shame that Gausman's pitch count is as high as it is. I don't trust the Jays pen to hold this shutout.
