He apparently started reading his copy of "Truculence for Dummies".
Few more of those would serve him well!

Intermission interview with Shane O'Brien:
- Says change isn't a bad thing
- Coach Ward has been first class since his demotion, loves the team, no bad things to say about Coach or Team
- Happy to play alot of minutes with the Heat, hasn't played many minutes in Calgary
- Wants to be in the NHL, but excited to play in the AHL and find his game
- Lots of young kids, makes him feel old, but very impressed with pace of practice, communication and explaining the drills to the kids
- Impressed with Tyler Wotherspoon, says he communicates ALOT for a young guy on the blue line. Thinks he has a bright future with the Flames
- Shane has played with Locke in juniors, Gillies in Portland and says both have great attributes as veterans on the team. Thinks Gillies will be an asset to the Heat.
Shane definitely seems very upbeat about the demotion, the team and especially the Coach. Alot of high praise for Coach Ward, calling him a players coach and that he is doing great things here.

Long season sure catching up with the college rookie forwards.....namely Knight and Hanowski.
Knight with two points in his last ten games
Hanowski with zero points in his last ten games.

^Coach Ward doesn't seem too concerned about it. He's said already that all college rookies seem to hit a wall around the 40 game mark so they are developing the same as most college guys. Figures they will break out of it shortly.
Probably why Knight didn't start the season with the Flames. He'd be ripped apart by fans by this point when it's just the normal college player development.

Oh yeah, I'm not all that concerned either......in fact it's expected when those kids are used to playing 40ish games for the last 4 years.
