I hope he does go pro next year. He'll be able to physically compete in the AHL and it'll be important to have him grow alongside the prospects. I doubt Sven will still be down there next year, and Poirier may be in the NHL as well. So having him with Granlund, Ferland, Arnold, Agostino, Reinhart, Sieloff sooner rather than later will be important for the future of this club going forward.
There's no real rush, though. Every year he's there he fills out a bit more, gets better at everything Providence does, better at faceoffs and scoring against college-aged men. It's not like he's Gaudreau at BC and making fools of opposing players every night; he still has lots to learn. Plus he is there growing alongside 2 of our other prospects already (though I think Gillies may turn pro after this season).
Next year he'll be The Man at Providence; probably team captain and go-to 1st line C. Valuable experience. There's no rush to get him to the NHL or AHL just yet as we have lots and lots of depth at C.

Think most people agree, could be his ceiling his 3rd line guy, like Backlund, Nystrom if he's moved to wing etc.
Nice that even if the points are as high as you'd "like" the solid play is. All over the highlight package from the previous game for example, but just the one game to show for it.
Definitely disappointed in his performance stats wise, but it does sound like he is developing. He still has playoff games and hopefully a frozen four bid, so time for him to turn clutch for the playoffs!
Worst case scenario is that we don't sign him and get a comp second rounder in 2016. Depending on depth of draft, not the end of the world if we add another second to our arsenal. He was drafted to be a top six C and with Monahan and presumptively Bennett in those roles, is Jankowski better suited than say Arnold to be a bottom six C?
If I were a betting man I'd say that if Jankowski has a career in the NHL I don't think it will be with Calgary.
