I struggle to think of another person like Nenshi... in or out of politics.

Yep.
Which is insane, since a) a government is NOT a business and should not be run like one, and b) if they were a business, a well-run business wouldn't waste money and time on stuff like virtue signaling to try and 'own the Libs' while simultaneously turning down lucrative investment opportunities (like the renewable energy investments that have shriveled up), or not listening to ALL their shareholders (ie. Alberta citizens) or providing them information and transparency in order to make calculated business decisions.

Assuming they are about to expose a bunch of corruption within the UCP, the larger question is, will anybody care? If a UCP voter wasn't deterred prior to the election with all of the red flags waving, and would still vote UCP again (according to current approval ratings), then the only people who would be upset about this is people would would never vote UCP anyway.
Remember, this isn't the old PCs and Alison Redford. The UCP can and will get away with far worse than what she got hung out to dry for.

I don’t think that person exists in Alberta politics.
|
Yep. If only someone like Nenshi was in the running for Premier next election.

I just learned that Labour Day is now called “Alberta Day”. Does anybody actually call it that?

I would like 2 Nenshis to choose from so you can choose between policy options rather than on which leader/party hasn’t disqualified themselves.

Alberta Day is September 1 because that's the day Alberta became a province in 1905. It isn't a holiday.
Labour Day is still Labour Day.

Alberta Day is Sept. 1; Labour Day is the first Monday in September.
EDIT: Too slow on the draw, getbak got there quicker.

Every day is 'Alberta Day' in Alberta.

Lot's of scandal potential for sure.
Foothills and rocky mountain mining chq's to Kenney and other MLA's? Probable
Ponzi Scheme by a Florida based company and crooked investments by former and current MLA's involving the new proton therapy center being built in Edmonton, when the AB Cancer Center was the primary target and has the vaults already built? VERY PROBABLE!! The good news is the Edmonton Oilers foundation, Connor McDavid, Ben Stelter foundation are somewhat involve. Not even a rumor, actually involved https://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/his-lega...lity-1.6808367
Transmountain Pipeline where the project that was suppose to cost $4 billion became close to $40 billion? Everybody from local, provincial and federal leaders and associates are 100% involved with that.
How much corruption between city officials, the Calgary Flames ownership and current and former MLA's on the new arena project and more? We know this to be true cause it's painful to see but at the same time we kinda like it too!
Something is kinda fishy with the railroad project to Banff. Suppose to be a private venture from downtown to Banff but the province and the city need to build a link to the airport first. The needed infrastructure is actually needed without a doubt but who's paying the big bill to YYC and who's collecting the tourist dollars? Lot's of potential for conflict here!
Could also be Jasper fire related too?
AB Politics is never boring

Sure, me too, but the best way to get there is probably Nenshi and hope the UCP find their senses/break up/restructure after Smith. And step one in that is probably for Nenshi to beat her

Buddy of mine works for the green line. Just told me the UCP is pulling all funding for the revised plan.
So, unless the city is willing to front the whole project, the Green line is dead.

Yeah. Not viable after the province delayed it so much (one of the big reasons, among others). What a surprise.

From the DM’s…
A source inside the provincial government tells us that the UCP is about to go to war with Calgary!
Allegedly, in order to make sure a certain UCP donor gets his train to Banff, the UCP is taking over the entire Green Line project!
Apparently the UCP believe they can weaponize the green line against @nenshi and the NDP and make their Banff train happen and in order to do so are planning on withholding funding despite Calgary passing a drastically scaled back version.

I was in Waterloo over the weekend, and I don’t know why we can’t do something like their ION LRT for the stations and track. Fairly small footprint in terms of station size and real estate needed.

All of this entirely believable because the UCP are nothing but petty. It tracks. Pun intended

They’re probably musing about whether it’s their day to eat prime rib or water the lawn.
