You argued my point that they get millions more votes every presidential election since social media became a thing...they have, they will
The electoral collage is a whole other debate

I'm going with the three way parlay:
- Over 19.5 lies
- Over 0.5 racial slurs
- Under 0.5 people's votes being changed because of tonight.

So nobody is talking about how apparently Republicans (Ted Cruz, JD Vance, Tom Cotton and a few others, plus dozens of pundits) have been memeing for two days about Haitian immigrants in Ohio eating people's housepets and killing wildlife in residential areas (presumably to eat).
Gotta think this won't play out well in places like Florida with high well-established Haitian populations.
I know we wave our hands around a lot about "mask off moments" the last few years but man the Overton window just simply doesn't even seem to exist anymore. Full-throated anti-immigration sentiment is curdling into kill-them-all fervor.

Had to google it cause I had no idea, absolutely hilarious if it wasn't so insane.

“Months ago, I raised the issue of Haitian illegal immigrants draining social services and generally causing chaos all over Springfield, Ohio,” Vance wrote on X. “Reports now show that people have had their pets abducted and eaten by people who shouldn't be in this country. Where is our border czar?” he asked, a term that Republicans have attempted to tag Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris with, although she has denied holding that role.

Quote:
“In response to recent rumors alleging criminal activity by the immigrant population in our city, we wish to clarify that there have been no credible reports or specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community,” Heck said in his statement.
“Additionally, there have been no verified instances of immigrants engaging in illegal activities such as squatting or littering in front of residents' homes. Furthermore, no reports have been made regarding members of the immigrant community deliberately disrupting traffic.”

I don't want to generalize, but I know a lot of Haitians, and they don't really follow news or politics. They won't notice.

FYI I just read that BBC would be carrying the debate, and fact checking in real time-probably will catch their broadcast

Check back in next week, I'm curious if it makes a dent.

It’s funny because Quebec has a large Haitian community that generally seems very politically active. Maybe it’s because they feel more included or comfortable being able to do it in their native language.

At least share the memes. Isn't that what politics is about.

Maybe he was referring to Brady's broadcasting prowess?

Do they have to be unique lies? If he follows the pattern of the Biden debate, he seems to just repeat his 4-5 favorite talking points no matter what the question is.

Good on those of you who are gonna suffer through this tonight. Seems like a waste of time since Harris will play it safe and Trump will lie incessantly, but I guess there's always the N-word factor for some mild intrigue.

CNN has been giving a lot more airtime recently to segments that can be seen as good for Trump or bad for Harris. They recently had the below segment too. Not sure what's going on, but I appreciate when it's not so slanted one way.
