ESPN was wrong on that.

Panthers as a collective unit handling things with complete class. The 180° difference between these two teams, from the top down, could not be more obvious.

I hope Barkov is OK. He is the best in the game at what he does.

ESPN was exactly right, and the rule you quoted is why:

‘The determining factor shall be the position of the puck when it was shot or batted by the offending player.’

The puck, in this case, was on the player's stick when it crossed the blue line, and outside the zone when it was ‘shot or batted’. No penalty is the correct call.

Still hate how soft these reporters are. How hard is to ask this...

"Chris, if a Panthers player left his feet, led and made contact with his elbow, and whether targeted or not had the head as the principal point of contact; if it was McDavid on the receiving end leaving the game and possibly the series with an injury, how should the league respond?"

Sportsnet didn't include any Oilers transgressions in the highlight package. Shameful.

You just proved them right...its obviously not where you wind up. Look at an icing for instance its when the puck is NO LONGER touching the stick it has been "shot"

Someone could elbow him in the mind in the liquor store parking lot and I'd probably just step over him. I might not steal his booze because he looks like he has bad taste in beer, but I probably wouldnt stop to help him up either.

I love what Paul Maurice said when asked about Barkov's condition and for his comments of the Saddlesore elbow.

"This isn't the Oprah Winfrey Show. My feelings don't matter."

Rasmus got 4 reg season games for basically the same hit. Should be AT LEAST 1 playoff game.

Unless it's Tkachuk playing for the Flames then its the Jerry Springer show

Love all the Oilers fans tears on Twitter tonight. All of them that have come across my timeline are crying that all the Panthers do is dive, nhl and refs have an agenda to give all the calls to Panthers, etc

Zero self awareness with those idiots. It would be absolutely hilarious if it wasn’t so frustrating lol

The "come on everybody this is Canada" posts are always full of Oiler fans taking shots at the Flames and other teams. Like seriously self awareness losers.
