Elliotte Friedman said that Pettersson reads a lot of what's said about him on social media in comments, etc. Pettersson's friends also apparently send him stuff they read. Never read the comments...

I feel bad that he's fallen into the trap of reading comments about him but at the same time I'm gleeful that the Pettersson extension has been trainwreck for them so far.
Maybe he can get a trade out of VAN so I can cheer for him to turn it around.

When Pettersson broke in, he was a weapon. So skinny and lanky but insane wrist shot and overall vision. With some experience and muscle, you would think he would be a top 10 scorer every year by now.

Really, you don't think some players are more driven to win than others??
If Miller was on the Flames we'd all embrace him as a great leader who just wants to win.
Fans are great a making up a narrative to suit the situation of each player

There's a different between regular NHL compete and guys who go next level, sure. Miller is in the latter category. But at what stage is he a net negative in the room when he's calling the 1C, face of the franchise a baby?

Well if Pettersson gets all upset maybe he is a baby, competitive guys get competitive, have none of you been on a team before? People disagree and lash out, adults deal with it and move on.
Things like this happen all the time on teams, social media blows it way out of proportion.
Didn't two players on Buffalo get in a fight last week?
Miller is not the issue in Vancouver

I think it's a bad look. Similar situation with Nylander in the playoffs, it's just as petulant as the initial perceived behaviour. It just always seems to follow Miller around, someone like that I wouldn't want in the shiny new Scotia Place dressing room.

Great leaders yell about digging in right now…and let’s go.
Heh I did make up the narrative. I used “leader” and “great”. Should have used player.

I didn't say there aren't different levels of competitiveness. I said it isn't an excuse for being a dick.

Rooney, Miller text exchange a powerful reminder players are people first
CALGARY — After appearing to be knocked out on the second shift of his NHL season, Kevin Rooney wasn’t sure what he’d wake up to the next morning.
One thing he didn’t expect was a text from the man whose hit did the damage, J.T. Miller.
“It meant a lot,” said Rooney, speaking Thursday for the first time since the scary incident.

We are being told from all sides and by anyone with an ear to the ground that it's not substance abuse related.
This makes it sounds like substance abuse.
Super strange way to say a thing by Allvin.
The scuttle butt is that this was some severe depression and burn out just putting JT Miller in a bad place at the same time. There was something about his wife was posting or chatting or something on Instagram about how she was at their last game for a month, and that his may have been planned even before the Nashville game.
What Allvin says makes sense with that in mind... but why put this out there? What? Like this won't stir up more ####?

Substance stuff usually comes with the p[layer entering the NHL program. This statement sounds more like what the Flames said around Kylington.

Could be mental health or depression issued without substance abuse.
