The Boston Bruins might just have a Plan B for this season after all.

After getting off to their worst start in 10 years -- being outscored 10-4 in home losses to Winnipeg and Montreal -- the B's may be starting to develop contingency plans in case things don’t drastically improve in the next few weeks.

According to separate hockey sources, there has been some level of recent trade discussion about veterans Zdeno Chara and Brad Marchand with other teams around the league, just to name a few B’s players. The talks haven’t been substantial but more exploratory in nature, as the team quietly gauges the market value of higher-priced veterans who may not fit in the long-term picture if the decision is made to tear down the current roster.

I'd love to add Krejci/Bergeron/Rask but I doubt they move those 3.

Those players and their contracts would force us to loose significant players we currently have. Yes o would agree those players are quality, but to empensive

Those guys do have big cap hits so I agree, would be tough to fit them in.

i can name several players on the bruins that would be worth trading for.... most of them wouldn't get moved by the bruins though

I too have thought for a while that Cam Ward would end up here. But at this point, I don't see how it would work. You'd have to get rid of both Ramo and Hiller. And highly questionable that Ward is an upgrade on either although I think you'll find some people that believe he is.

I am quite perplexed by the goalie situation. Ortio did not play his way on the team, or else he would not be the declared #3. If they had no intention of exposing him to waivers, that's something BT would have known back in July when he signed Ramo.

So its back to "he thought he had a deal for Hiller in place". I don't buy that one for a few reasons. I hope not.

I am starting to come around to the idea that Ortio gets moved for a pick. Frankly I would take a 2nd rounder for any goalie in this organization not names Gillies.

I can't think of a single reason to trade Ortio. If that's where you end up...just waive either Hiller or Ramo.

You would have to be a team with a bit of cap room in win now mode to consider accepting that deal.

If we werent so deep at center i would take a run at Bergeron, that being said so would 25 other teams so that ask would be way too high.

Its gonna be tough for them to move chara at nearly 40 with that cap hit.

The Flames already have pretty significant dollars committed to Giordano, Hamilton, Wideman, Brodie, Smid, and Engelland next year with some young guys starting to bang on the door. I don't see any room to take on a contract that runs past this season unless you can move one out, or you're getting Torrey Krug from the Bruins.

Tuuka Rask to the Blues would make a lot of sense. Jake Allen and Ty Rattie as a starting point in the return package. I'm sure the bruins would rather have Fabbri than Rattie
