Does Baertschi have a Twitter account? I think we should troll him by telling him how badly the Canucks are treating him by sending him down and how badly the Canucks need his scoring in the playoffs! Get that swelled head of his another size or two bigger and make him that much more difficult to deal with at the bargaining table. You can bet your ass that his agent is going to be holding those two magical goals against the Oilers as proof of Sven's greatness!

This is why I think the trade was for the best for Baertschi. Before he could easily believe that it was bias that was preventing him from breaking into the NHL on a full-time basis. Now onto team #2, and they are treating him the same as Calgary did, Desjardin's comments on him sound exactly like Hartley's did, he will now have to realize that it is himself, not everyone else that is holding him back from the NHL. This is a good thing for him, either he will realize he has to change to be in the NHL, or he will figure out that maybe he just wants to play his way and get his money back in Switzerland.

This is one of the most childish things I've ever read on this forum

and i think people are reading too much into the positive things he's saying about the canucks as apparently trashing his former organization.
baertschi is from a very different culture. he's honest. doesn't give those boring and cliched answers in interviews.
i guess that often works against him in a canadian market because it's the expectation in player interviews that players hold back - that there has to be more behind each statement.
i don't think it's like that with sven. he's been transparent with the flames since day one.
I don't buy any of that tripe. Culture has nothing to do with being honest and honest with one's self. Sven's comments point more towards himself than they do the Flames, he thinks then as now that his game the way it is, is good enough for the NHL. It clearly is not and apparently The Flames are not the only ones that think this way. Until he can take an honest look at himself and his game and his approach to it he's not going to much more than AHL fodder.
If I were the Canucks I would be more concerned with his comments than any Flames fan should be. To me and others they speak loudly as to why he failed to make impact on the Calgary Flames.
The only bad thing about this trade was that it was with the Canucks. But I'm gonna assume they were the only ones who were willing to give up a 2nd round pick. Other teams (if any) may have been a 3rd + lower level prospect or AHL player
