The way I see it, these guys have to be huge players in the final chapters of the series. THEY ARE MAGIC and we know now that basically the entire world of GOT revolves around magic.
I think Howland Reed has a much larger role in the goings on at the Tower of Joy than we have been lead to believe.
Something is up with the Crannogmen and I wanna know what it is. I wonder if Danny is actually born of Rhaegar and Lyanna and THAT was the promise ned made, which is why he was so against killing/assassinating Danny. Maybe Danny and Jon are Twins.
|
I think the show has shown them to be magic which is good to see - didn't Howland pretty much get a sword through his chest and then he was simply "limping"?

No, it looks like Dayne slashes the sword out of his hand and slices his chest, but doesn't stab him.
It's at about 2:23 in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgFPVae1Cb8 (video can't be embedded).

I don't think Danny and Jon are twins. I think that if there were a set of twins born of in that situaton, Meera and Jon are the pair of twins. They are the same age, look similar, similar hair colour which doesn't make sense for the reeds, and both are excellent fighters. Jojen and Meera looked nothing a like both in build and facially. It would make sense if Lyanna gave birth to twins that each of Howland Reed and Ned would take one each because it would be easier for each of them that way. Less questions would be asked.

While the crannogmen are a peculiar people, there doesn't seem to be any indication that they treat #######s differently. Meera is a Reed, not a Snow. Howland coming back with a baby saying she is true born might raise a few questions on how his non-pregnant wife was able to give birth.

Mya Stone is at the Vale. One of Robert's recognized #######s.
Sansa Stark is also incognito as a Stone as Littlefinger's #######.

All the Sand Snakes (and their mother) too. Of course, Dorne doesn't have the same attitude toward the baseborn that the rest of Westeros has.

I had to google Mya Stone but she doesn't appear to be in the show, just the books; so I would have no knowledge of her as I have not read the books. But judging from the name, they don't have the same attitude towards illegitimate daughters.
In the TV show Sansa was pretending to be Littlefinger's niece, not illegitimate daughter.
So in the show at least all the illegitimate children (in Westeros) introduced appear to be males.

Man the Iron Islands are small compared to the land mass of some of the other 'major' players.

How long is an episode exactly? It is like a parsec in star wars?

Another supporting book character made his debut last night, I'm pretty sure the lead of the three Brotherhood riders that showed up was Lem Lemoncloak.

I found it interesting that they hung him, why just him? They generally only hang Frey's in the book. Was he a former Frey soldier? He talked about a lot of bad things. Also, who usually tells them who to hang? LSH!
