sounds like @FlaPanthers will deal F Brandon Pirri but not in a rush. Waiting to see if market builds a bit as deadline approaches

I'd bet on it. Fits the mood perfectly

Why now and not at the draft/off season? Timing suggests this trade would be to load up for Play-off drive, yes?
Must be a bottom dweller looking to deal with Tampa?

I'll pose a question. Which out of the two of Russell and Hamhuis fetch the better return?
Hamhuis if he gets traded before Russell or after Russell gets traded?
I' wondering because I feel like we're in a mexican stand off right now. Do the Flames think they'll get the better return if they move Russell after Hamhuis gets dealt?

Kings and Ducks have both expressed interest to Panthers in RFA F Brandon Pirri. #TradeCentre

Hamhuis is a much better player than Russell, but his NTC and Benning's history makes it a lot more comparable than it should be. Still bet that Hamhuis moves for more than Russell

now multiple offers to @FlaPanthers on Pirri. One team has offered up a second while another has a package of a third and a fourth

I really hope the Flames don't waste picks on a guy like Pirri, I'd rather then make a bigger package deal for a good player.

Meanwhile, as @DennisTFP has mentioned, sounds like LA shifting focus to bottom-6 LW/RW, more physical. Would still love 2nd pair D.

I'd offer Shinkaruk or a 3rd for Pirri. Anything more is an overpayment for such a one dimensional player

Sounds like things heating up for B's/Wild. Loui Eriksson fills a big Minny need, but would need to be a package of assets for Jonas Brodin

That's a great move. Covers up the Hamilton pain I imagine the Bruins fans still have to this day.

If Boston lands Brodin it is likely they are out on Russell

For a team like Carolina it's not easy. Chicago has no issue because they're definitely a playoff team and out of the lottery. So for Chicago, it's a matter of draft class and what they feel they can get from a 30th pick. For Carolina, it's about draft lottery, which has now improved the odds significantly for a club ranked 28th - 16th in the standings.

A 3rd yes, Shinkaruk no. Shinkaruk is worth more than a 3rd.

I can't see Minny, who's currently out of a playoff spot, trading a young, top 4 Dman signed long term for a pending free agent. I can believe they're after RNH, but I can't believe they're in on Eriksson

If Schultz got a 3rd with salary retained, Wideman is worth a 2nd with salary retained.
(though I doubt the Flames move him)

Schultz is an expiring contract. Wideman has one more year left at an ugly cap hit.
