she needs to play some challengers even. Win a few titles for confidence.
Qualifying Round 2
Abanda def. Hesse (FRA) 46 76 62
Brands (GER) def Dancevic 75 76
Diez just began his match when it started to rain

It would be awesome if Steven Diez could make it into his first Grand Slam main draw. He's really taken some steps forward this season.

He should win tomorrow. He gets the American wildcard Christian Harrison (who beat #2 Kravchuk on a retirement).
Its on Court 17 to boot! The center court of qualifying

US Open draw is out. Milos gets a tricky first round draw with Dustin Brown, but otherwise should cruise to the 4th round. Le Monf is in his section as a 4th round opponent, but potential QF Nadal, SF Djokovic and F Murray is really tough. Vasek gets an undetermined qualifier, and has a decent section though given his current form winning two matches would be a success.
Genie gets Katerina Siniakova in the first round, potential Radwanska match if she can get to the third round. We know she's playing well in terms of during the points, it's keeping her head that's the issue right now. 4th round to defend rankings wise, so hopefully she can at least hit that. Also PopNest have stuck together post Olympics and will be playing doubles together as the #6 seed.

*sigh*
Diez crushed the kid in the first set 61 but then seemed to run out of steam. 16 64 62
Abanda also lost today.

Damn. It must be so frustrating to get to the final match of qualification and then not being about to step over that hurdle.

Really enjoyed this piece on Milos:

Raonic spares no expense, and the glasses—which a vision specialist suggested to help improve his reaction time—are just a small part of it. The massive team of people around Raonic is so all-encompassing it makes you wonder whether somebody’s in charge of tucking him in at night.

Some good insight ahead of the US Open.

lol - I know you're kidding Girly, he's still a very good doubles player, and can still have a lucrative career in doubles even if his singles career doesn't pan out.

Joker is on, Ashe. Milos playing Brown. Better not take him lightly. I think Brown beat Nadal this year, or maybe in was last year. They play on court 17.

... and then gets broken right back because he decided to play a little Nick Kyrgios tennis. All offence, even when not warranted.
