Cammy is going to walk, and they might want to move Glencross while he has value. They'll have to sign people to make the floor either way.
Where is the difficulty there?

If Burke is trading pick for young established player I would hope for some size. At the very least a rw with a right hand shot.

I agree on preferring a RW, but I don't know of any big, young, 30 goal, RW'ers available. I'm not saying there aren't any, just saying I haven't heard of any on the market.
Skinner is going to be a star in this league for the next 10 years. Also, to address the small comment again... I don't think he's small at 5'11 - 200lbs. If he were 6'0'' - 200lbs we'd be saying he has good size for his position. Does 1'' really make or break a 21 year old 30 goal scorer?

Pretty doubtful Canes trade a known commodity for a 5th-6th overall that could just as easy bust

I wonder what it'd cost to pry Adam Larrson from the Devils
Flames 1st
For Devils 1st and Larrson
Devils probably don't do that even though their pick is #30

Never mind. Devils aren't allowed to trade their first rounder.

Change that to:
Flames 1st
For
Adam Larsson
Devils 2nd round 2014
Devils 1st round 2015
and you might have something there.

I'll settle for Draisaitl or Dal Colle.

Realistically, any 5 of Ekblad, Dal Colle, Draisaitl, Bennett, or Reinhart are going to be good for the Flames.
Whether Calgary keeps a top 5 pic remains to be seen.

Ekblad, Reinhart, Bennett, Dal Colle, Ritchie are all players I would take before Draisaitl.

Agreed here. I was at the Red Deer/Prince Albert 1 game playoff. Draisaitl was invisible, and stood out no more than Hayden Fleury which wasn't much either. I know it's only one game, but it was a big one. Nothing spectacular in my opinion.

His skating is mediocre, floats around a lot, doesn't use his size to its potential, isn't physical, isn't intense... just not a type of player Brian Burke would draft.

Ya he's not an intense plugger that's for sure, but if you look at the list of 6'2" centres who put up those kind of point totals in their draft season... Pretty short list, and he is notplaying with elite wingers like Reinhart. Kids that age aren't consistent, although that said there are some conflicting reports on how he played the other night from what I can tell.

To me, if you can get another 6'2" centre with elite offenisve upside... No brainer to me. Him and Monahan down the middle would complement each other perfectly, a good two way guy and an elite passer/playmaker. Could be set at pivot for a decade. Wingers are the last piece you add and the easiest to acquire which is why he should be picked before dal colle or ritchie.

You guys have to remember that this is a very weak draft, both at the top end and depth wise.
The top 5 guys are all going to have warts. Sean Monahan is probably a better prospect than all of them.
Personally, have not been impressed by Draisaitl at all but that's only when you think of him as a top-5 pick and in a normal draft year he wouldn't be. But if the draft is weak that isn't his fault.
Draisaitl, Dal Colle, Bennett, they all are flawed prospects who are by no means guaranteed first line NHLers. But it will still be better to get one of them and temper expectations accordingly, than someone else further down the list.
Hopefully whatever guy the Flames get, fans don't place too enormous expectations on him from the start. He'll be the highest drafted guy in Flames history but probably not the best player.

For me its Ekblad (#1), Bennett (#2a) and Reinhart (#2b). Hoping and wishing Flames can get one of these three.

That's an interesting read for sure..... I saw some of the stuff he's talking about, but it wasn't that impressive. I think this writer is an Oiler fan, already touting this guy like he's theirs. If it wasn't for the announcement of the goals, I wouldn't have even known Draisaitl was in on them. Either I can't see, or he wasn't noticeable to me. I did see Lowe and McTavish in the box directly across from ours, and if they are interested in him, he can't be that good

I wonder if Ekblad slides like Jones did at last years draft. I can see the Coilers not picking anyone at the draft, but trading it for some help right now. Just a thought but Edmonton would be stupid not to pick Ekblad if they have the chance.

I can't see them trading it. I mean they should, but they won't. They're addicted to high pick hype.
I bet Katz and Lowe have all their draft magazines and they're excited as hell.
