I can’t see Ras extending with the Wings
Hopefully this ramps up Vegas’ offer?

Vegas can't match that. They're asset deprived.

It wouldn't surprise me if he didn't want to play long-term in Detroit and be reminded of the scooter accident everyday, that really seemed to affect him mentally
I hope that's not the case but he still seemed shaken by it when he talked about it on After Hours

Grind on that for another 55 days and you'll be able to get that and a 3rd for rental Andersson.

Well it’s his right to control the trade destination somewhat and to test free agency.
I hope Yzerplan can convince him.

And we don’t want to help them in any way considering we get their next 1st round pick.

I still feel Nik Lidstrom, Henrik Zetterberg, Tomas Holmstrom, Niklas Kronwall and all the other Swedish Red Wings he likely idolized as a kid could call him and convince him to play their
Part of me thinks that Detroit isn't putting that package on the table or Danielson's name out there if they don't think they have any chance of re-signing him

How do we feel about this vs Bichsel and a 1st from Dallas?
We need Centre more. But we could also have a great young left side D if we took the Dallas offer.
(Assuming previous speculation about Dallas offer was correct)

Truth be told, I don know if Andersson would sign an extension anywhere. Really sounded like he wanted to do the UFA experience in his end of season presser.

I don’t know anything about Nate Danielson. Can someone tell me about him and make me stoked on him?

6'2" 200 lbs Right Handed center.
21 years old.
28 gp last year with the big club. 37% in the face off dot. Not great but definitely not bad for a kid in his first stint.
Good 200 foot player.
Think he'd be behind Reschny when all things are rolling.
Was over . 5ppg in his first AHL season. Is 1 ppg so far this season. 6 game played so a small sample size.

Even better that it's a 2027 1st, who knows if Detroit will be good next year

I’ll gladly accept a future 1st from any Atlantic division team with how hard that division is to know who makes it and who doesn’t.

But if they are the same or close as detroits offer they probably need extensions also. I have my doubts that Anderson at this stage signs an extension with more than a couple teams . One of them being Vegas and they got nothing

Should say Danielson is sneaky smooth. Has slick slick hands and is more a playmaker than a shooter.

As a fan of Andersson who is also a fan of the assets Detroit would have for the trade I like this. It's a team I wouldn't feel bad cheering for the guy if he signs there versus somewhere like Vegas.

Although I’d love the trade, I just can’t see why any player would sign an extension so close to becoming a free agent
Also
Why would you increase your value, become more expensive to hurt your new team?

Losing danielsen and 2027 1 doesn’t really weaken Detroit

The 8 year vs 6 year max term is a big factor though.
If the Flames give his agent the ability to "talk" and negotiate with teams that are interested he's kind of getting the experience of UFA while not giving up those 2 years of term.
