He’s secretly a Capitals fan. The guy plays on the 4th line for a terrible team. How is it possible that Tanev, one of the best shutdown defenceman in the league, can’t get a 1st but a 4th line centre can?

The biggest misses there are the trades to try and speed things up imo. Murray, oof, Stepan, wayyyy past his prime at that point

Getting back NHL players for your rentals is really just a bonus. Most late 1st round or later picks don't make the NHL. It is all about hitting on the high picks they get.
