OMG just downloaded rdio and am using a free trial of some sort. This app is insanity. I really hope I can get it for $10. Hey Russic - can you and your wife share an account?

It's 10$ if you pay on rdio.com. In app is a bit more since apple takes 30%.

You can share but it will only allow 1 connection at a time. If
You put an iPhone on offline mode you might be able to use 2

Thanks for the screen shot Sliver. I'm pretty sure Apple was quite clear that you couldn't make your in-app price higher to account for the 30% going to Apple. Regardless, if you sign up through the website (http://www.rdio.com/) it's $10/month. I love the app and it's worth more than $10/month to me. Being able to go through the playlists of other people is solid.

Silentsim is correct, only one can be using the account at the same time. It works for my wife and I because we tend to use it at different times naturally. Might not work for your situation though.

Well thanks for the help you guys. I am going to finish the 7-day free trial and it looks like everything I could possibly want from a music app. I'm sure I'll sign up for the $10/month on the rdio site when the trial is complete.

CP once again broadens my horizons while simultaneously costing me money.

I usually read my feeds using Reeder, but am going to be travelling soon and was wondering if there were some apps that let you read offline.

I know of Instapaper (4.99) and Read It Later (Free). Anyone have experience with either of these and can comment?

Readability is another one. Free as well.

Along with the two you mentioned, it is built right into Reeder so you can save articles to read offline right from within the app.

Instapaper is one of the best apps and services I have ever used. It is an essential app for me at this point

Instapaper is definitely the kind of app you don't regret paying for.

There is comedy! I listened to David Cross on the way home tonight. Did a quick search and there is Tosh and others as well. I'm so stoked on this app.

There are also family plans that are somewhat cheaper than having multiple individual accounts.

Apple has continued their tradition by naming the top iPhone and iPad apps of the year, plus offers up a “best sellers” list. In 2011 the best iPhone app goes to Instragram, Apple called this the “definitive photo-sharing app is also one of the fastest growing social networks”. The iPad app of the year was another photo related app called Snapspeed. Here’s the complete list of 2011 featured apps:

iPhone App of the Year: Instagram
iPhone App of the Year Runners-up: VidRhythm, Band of the Day
iPhone Game of the Year: Tiny Tower
iPhone Game of the Year Runners-Up: Tiny Wings, Touchgrind BMX
Top Sellers: Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Cut the Roap, WhatsApp Messenger, Angry Birds Seasons

iPad App of the Year: Snapspeed
iPad App of the Year Runners-up: TSN, Jamie’s Recipes
iPad Game of the Year: Dead Space
iPad Game of the Year Runners-Up: Contre Jour HD, Superbrothers
Top Sellers: Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, Pages, Scrabble, GarageBand

So there you have it… how many of these apps did you download?

Pretty disappointed that #sworcery (aka Superbrothers) didn't get game of the year. Simply outstanding app that blows away the competition in every way.

Playing around with Snapseed. Had I realized it was developed by my favourite photo plug-in developer (Nik) I would have bought it first day. Amazing app. The control is quite strong.

Yeah, I picked it up today, and I don't know how/why I didn't hear or read about this app sooner. Replaced a number of graphics apps on my iPad
