Someone on CDC says Huberdeau trains in Calgary in the summer? Does anybody have any information or can verify this?
Huberdeau trains in Calgary in the summer. Calgary was on his list of teams he would play for....
My friend is a huge Calgary fan. He says Huberdeau is there every summer training. Why would you train in a city that you don't like? He's also Canadian, so unless Montreal can clear massive cap space he's probably re-signing with Calgary.

Maybe up there with Nieuwendyk for Millen and Iginla. Of course, no one knew what Iginla would become at the time and if you believe the rumours, the Flames actually wanted Todd Harvey instead but Dallas refused.

Kent Nilsson for the pick that ended up being Nieuwendyk was a nice trade too. 35 years of Flames greatness starting with Kent.

Niewy trade wasn't that big of blockbuster. The piece of kyit was under contract and didn't want to play because he wanted more money. He should be one of the most hated Flames ever! What would have happened if we actually got Todd Harvey?

This is a massive trade I think it's up with Gilmour for Bullard, Gilmour was a young stud that ended up being a huge part of the Flames 1989 run. I was shocked to see him traded to the Flames.

I remember I was in about grade 9 or 10 and was mad. If they were going to trade Nieuwendyk I wanted it to be for players I knew.
Back then I didn't get to see much Flames games on TV in Manitoba so I didn't get to see him in the playoffs and didn't get an idea of how good he was until the World Juniors. I still didn't think he would turn out to be the best player in franchise history.

Something to do with him and an underaged babysitter

He’s not the first guy to negotiate a bonus heavy deal.
There is no language in the CBA about bonuses being exempt - in fact it’s clear that they are subject to escrow. The top google result article for ‘nhl escrow signing bonus’ claims the weird scenario about paying it via salary, but I’ve never seen a citation.

I don’t know the escrow implications, was just commenting that I don’t think he’d be less popular if he did find a way around it.

Bullard was coming off a 100
Point season too
4 big trades total with the blues involving a total of 5 HOFers at least that I recall

His contract actually makes it more enticing for a team to trade for him in the later years of the deal since the real $$ are less than the cap hit. Let’s Chucky set up his destination for his next deal as well.
