That trade is Oshie, 116th for Hudler, Seiloff, Shore, 52nd and 2016 3rd. Bit of an overpayment I'd say .
Blues would be adding in any Oshie/Hudler deal.
There's even a better one between Jets and Flyers:
Dustin Byfuglien
Blake Wheeler
Scot Kosmachuck
Eric Comrie
2016 1st round pick (WPG)
2017 1st round pick (WPG)
3rd round (#78 overall)
2016 6th round pick (WPG)
for
Jakub Voracek
Yevgeny Medvedev
5th round (#128 overall)
Yikes.

Aaron Vickers on the Fan960 saying the Flames will likely key in on Konecny or Merkley if they are still on the board. Makes a good point in saying that you can’t get bigger at the expense of skill and speed, and you can’t pass on those attributes if they are there. In other words you can’t draft Crouse just because he’s 6’4.
I still believe the Flames draft Konency if he’s still there. And that would be a fantastic pick.

I really like Konecny as well. Would be thrilled if we got him.

I'd take Crouse at #15... I wouldn't take him top 10 like some folk think he'll go but he's got talent that's perfectly acceptable to take mid-first round.

Well I think the Fan960 conversation is assuming that Crouse isn't there at 15. If he was, I can't imagine us not taking him, especially since he has good chemistry with Sam B.

Any concern that Konecny numbers didn't improve from his previous season? There might be a good reason, but that worries me a bit.

Konecny at 5'10" isn't set in stone either. He could still put on another inch or 2.
Hell Hunter Smith has grown since we drafted him as an over-ager.

Similar story to Monahan perhaps? Monahan's numbers didn't improve in his draft year as well. Just judging by their stats on that team, doesn't look like there's a lot there besides Konecny and Salituro. No concerns from me, he's a hard-worker who'll improve on this team.

Didn't Konecny have concussion problems at the beginning of the season? He really impressed me in the Top Prospects game.

I've had so much trouble deciding who I want our Flames to draft this year. I've finally decided on Konecny. I cant help but think that he's a perfect fit for what we're doing here and he would look fantastic playing alongside Sam Bennett.

That's the way I'm leaning if Connor is off the board. It's between Connor, Konecny, and Boeser for me now.
Boeser only if the Flames opt to trade down 5-6 spots.

Depending on who's still on the board, I think they take Boeser. He's been ranked pretty high on a couple of lists. I doubt they would move down and risk losing out on him if he's high on their list.

I haven't really follow/looked into Konecny closely, but his stats and numbers are very underwhelming.
He has the second lowest point per game total out of any CHL forward projected to go in the top 20. He has been a minus player every year in the OHL thus far. He is the smallest forward projected to go in the first round. He is injury prone.
Small forwards with edge have a track records of facing numerous injuries in the NHL. Not only do injuries slow/stop progression, but they waste cap, reduce chemistry, and reduce overall play.
Also the lack of progression since last year is a bit scary. His numbers have basically stayed the same even though his team improved.
Does he have more flashy highlights or something? Just looking at numbers, it seems like Merkley is a better player in virtually every aspect, except maybe chippy play, which just makes konecny injured more often. Even if Konecny was 6'3, his point totals would barely be enough to justify taking him at 15.

He started the season slow, but had 48 points in his final 31 regular season games and 10 points in 5 playoff games.
Konecny is also a better skater than Merkley, while Merkley probably has a strength advantage.
The injuries are definitely concerning, but it looks like he is a consensus top 15 pick from viewing most rankings.
He would fit in nicely as another highly touted OHL forward along with Monahan and Bennett.

There's still 4 players ahead of Boeser the Flames should take.
Even maybe Colin White too.

Im not at all sold on Konecny. Im still hoping Meier is available, if not hopefully Svechnikov.
I feel we would be reaching a bit too much to take Boeser at 15, some if he is our guy I hope they trade down a bit and grab additional picks.

What the Flames do with the pick will largely be determined on what happens on the floor that day.
You just never know what other teams may do. We might see someone jump up from the mid teens in the rankings into the top 10, sort of like how Scheifele was rated in the 12-18 range before the draft and getting picked at 7 by the Jets. A guy like Guryanov might go way earlier than many are expecting, then you have a wild card in Samsonov although I don't think he'll go in the top 15.
We could see one of the second tier guys fall unexpectedly. Or everything could go as expected with the top 13 players all getting picked leaving us at the beginning part of the third tier of players. Lots of different scenarios for sure. As long as the Flames select a forward in the first round, they will be good. They are all better options in terms of high end potential than the d, whether it's Svechnikov, White, Konecny, Merkley, Boeser etc. it doesn't matter much.
