New Christmas-themed episode tonight, and we discovered that Sarah injured her hand trying to catch a throwing star while on a mission in Calgary in 2004. I can only assume the mission was code-named "Shirts off for Kiprusoff".

I was a bit disappointed they rushed the end of the Omen story line and they rushed getting rid of Superman.
To me I still think that this whole episode is Sarah in a coma, everything is almost from the Sarah point of view, and there are too many happy ending.

One of the best episodes Chuck has ever produced, was great to see the entire cast acting as a reminder as how good this show can and will be remembered as. Always loved the mythology of the Sarah character, and does this next episode ever look like we are going to dive right into it.
To put a bow on it, my favorite show of all time, makes a Calgary 2004 reference. That was epic, and I had to keep rewinding it, to make sure I had actually heard it.

Happy ending? Shaw raped Sarah when she was unconscious. That's pretty unhappy to me. haha
I'm assuming that's what he meant by "the baby".

On a side note, I just noticed that Adam Baldwin is going to be a guest at the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo in April.

Yeah, I typed shortform sorry.
Even the ready made family is coming into pay, bets are off, but of course they'll rescue the kid or baby, Chucks mom will return, they'll all look tearfully at the camera and either Sarah will die or wake up in the hospital in the last episode.
That's my theory anyways.

It's going to have that feeling of everything being tied up in a neat little bow, because it's the series finale season and they only have 13 episodes to work with.

5 Episodes left.
If Chuck's money was frozen by Decker then now that Decker has been taken out and that entire operation discredited, why can't they get their money back?
I'm guessing that the CIA would believe it is all the arms trader's money, but with how many other things that were "reversed" (Casey killing CIA agents while a civilian) that something like the money could be returned.

With 5 episodes left, what do they really have to wrap up in terms of major plot points?
Pretty much all of the key villians are gone, Fulcrum, the ring, Shaw (They should have stretched this one out).
What's left to resolve?
Morgan is back with Alex
Jeffster is back to being trouble makers
Sara's issues seem to be resolved
Carrie Ann Moss who's group could have been a good foil was emasculated right off of the bat, and now she's arm fluff for Casey.
There's just nothing really intriguing to hold you to a build up to the last episode.

I want to defend the show, but this season has been stupid. There have been no major plot lines that last more than 3 episodes, half of each episode deals with emotional garbage between Sarah and Chuck or Morgan and Alex or who ever.
Season 2 was really good, too bad the other 4 seasons were mediocre in comparison.
What they should have done was go the Cable route and make a proper 13 episode season (though Cable's are 12) with a major plot instead of just a whole whack of plots.

The one failure of Chuck has been the inability to create a credible villian and they always seem to end the threat too easily
They started with Fulcrum which was kinda a rogue faction within U.S. Intelligence that felt that America wasn't ruthless enough in fighting the war on terror and wanted the Intersect. They were the best developed villian but were effectively killed off very quickly in season two. But Fulcrum was only one part of
A conspiracy in the U.S. Government to subvert the government and other governments around the goal, it seemed like they were just after power and were using U.S. intelligence assets to do it. We saw how deep they were in when Chuck showed up at a major meeting in a U.S. government (CIA) office and ran into Ring agents. We saw a shadowy council but never really learned who the big wigs were. They ended it suddenly and completely when they arrested the so called god fathers.
We never heard of any of the sub groups of the Ring besides Fulcrum, but there was a chance to use them to seek revenge or re-establish the Ring, but it never happened so the Ring became pretty lame, and we never felt that Chuck or his friends were in any danger
Volkoff Industries an international arms organization lead by a former MI-6 Spy who became Alexi Volkoff. This one was a huge dissapointment because they crushed them in under a year and you felt kind of ripped off. At one point you had Sara infiltrating the organization, but they ended that quickly instead of playing it up. The whole thing was rushed and even when Volkoffs daughter took over and tried to seek revenge Chuck really quickly changed her back to a good guy.
Daniel Shaw had some potential he became the villian after the Ring revealed that Sara had killed his wife. We had a credible and fairly strong villian that was driven by revenge. In the end Chuck shot and presumably killed him. I had high hopes when he returned as the mastermind behind a massive virus attack that would allow him to upload a upgraded intercept so that he could kill Chuck in front of Sara.
Instead of a multistory arc we get one episode where Shaw who creates this master plan turns out to be more like Spectre from Maxwell Smart and gets totally out foxed in a matter of minutes, and his only lame revenge is the whole baby thing.
Chuck has really good humor, and really nice acting, but they completely fumble things when it comes to create a credible antagonist, they rush through them in a hurry with little development or thought, and thats where the series tends to fail for me.

The series fails because they were always on the edge of cancellation and didn't want to leave any major stories hanging. They always seemed to set everything up to wrap up at mid-season or the end of a season, then when they found out they had a reprieve, they would throw some sort of a last minute cliff-hanger in to try and tie them together.
Some show concepts that use an overarching theme like this should be given a set number of episodes right from the outset and be allowed to pace it within that constraint. Some shows like procedural shows can go on an on because the focus of every episode is wrapped up every episode. Long term storylines are rarely integral to the show. But shows like Chuck, or Lost, which has its focus on one long story need to have a fixed length so it doesn't drag things out (Lost) or wrap things up too neat or quickly (Chuck).

Interesting episode last week, not so sure if it was overly well done. Even though the Jeff and Lester thing was hilarious and they bought back the Subway product placement thing in a big way.
Sarah gets the intersect, the new and improved one that causes brain damage, and the preview of next week makes it look like it makes her sick.
I stand by my theory that all of this stuff is happening to her while she's in a coma, and the intersect brain damage is going to bring that through to a last episode where they end the series with her waking up.

I thought tonight's episode was one of the best the show has ever done.
This is my all time favorite tv show and I recognize very much it's flaws. It has overcome so much though and to get 5 seasons is truly incredible for a show that was lucky to just get a second one. I'm not going to get into recapping the shows flaws or saying it only had one good season.
One more episode left next Friday and I will truly miss this show. The amazing soundtrack, arguably the best guest stars any show has ever produced, the 80's callbacks, Sarah Walker, the Buy More, the Weinerlicious, Jeffster and so much more.
This season was tough to wrap it all up in 13 episodes but this last storyline is one of the best Chuck has ever done.I think the Morgan intersect story was a little weak but it did a great job at showing us the intersect can be extremely dangerous to the peson with it, if there name is Chuck Bartowski. I think the show has been on a freaking roll for the last 4-5 episodes and what better way to finish the series then instead of pitting Chuck against another villan, Chuck Vs Sarah trying to save the love of his life (By the way the Finale is a 2 part 2 hour episode with the first hour titled Chuck Vs the Sarah.
It's a real crime this show never did get the advertising by NBC or budget it deserved. It was flawless in those first two seasons and you can tell by the quality of the shooting and the amount of time each support member could be on camera (not having to worry about budget on on screen talent) That being said, I take away much more joy and memories from watching this show then I do bad ones.
I think one thing we can ALL agree on, Yvonne Strahovski should become a much bigger deal in hollywood. She's got the acting chops, she's goregous and I'd take her over 95% of the leading ladies right now.

Here's hoping for a strong finish, its no secret that the show lost its luster for me last year.
As long as it winds up with a performance of Jeffster I'll be happy.

I got to watch the Finale last night and it was incredible.
If you've been a fan of the show from the early stages, this is pretty much a gift to you. The amount of callbacks are incredible, and there's a Jeffster CONCERT!! A tribute to the little show that could and somehow made it 5 seasons.
We can talk at length about where the show missed the mark the last few seasons, but the show leaves a legacy itself. I don't think there's ever been a fan campaign, like the Subway Sandwiches before. A show that has already written 5 Series finales on a budget of little or nothing.
It gives you a great idea of where the characters are going, it has so many callbacks, so much of what made it great to begin with that mixture of comedy, action and romance. All Chuck fans will love the 2 hour episode tonight. Been fun chatting with you guys about the show on here, dating all the way back to the Chuck Season 2 thread, when I'd say it was without question the best show on TV

It was better then I expected, it was nice to see Jeffster again after a long absence.
I liked the ending for Casey, I cracked up with the Russian's know how to hug scene.
They should have had Sara play evil earlier she was really good at it.
Nice to see Linda Hamilton come back one last time as well.
I wasn't really satisfied with the final villain I just never got the final boss vibe from him.
But overall better then I expected.
So long Chuck, see ya in the reruns on Teletoon someday.
